I wrote a few months back about people who are trying to sell a house that fall into a pattern of “chasing a falling market.” A sale occurred earlier this year which is a perfect example.
The house came on the market in late 2009. In the following 16 months, the property reduced its asking price 6 times. The 7th time it was sold at auction. The property sold for 37.5% lower than the asking price in late 2009.

• They sold at an average of 97% of their assessed value

There were ten waterfront sales during the month of July, 2011 on Lake Winnipesaukee at an average price of $1.223 million. There were 77 residential home sales last month in the communities listed in this Lakes Region real estate market report. That’s down a bit from the 88 sales last June. But the average sales price came in considerably higher at $476,304 compared to $292,586 in June 2010. Yeah! Summer is really here. The temperature is heating up and it finally feels like it is lake weather. It’s time to get out on the boat and enjoy it. For the second month In a row, residential home sales in the Lakes Region of NH were down a bit compared to last year’s sales.
