Got a New Phone?
Every time you buy a new phone, even if it is just the newest version or upgrade of your current model, there seems to be a very large learning curve trying to get used to it. The manufacturers always seem to change something. You can’t seem to navigate it correctly, you drop calls because you pushed the wrong button, you can’t even seem to answer a call because you can’t find the right button, and God help you if you are on a call and you get another one beeping...

Gnomes Lives Matter
Probably the number one question people ask me about when selling their home is “What should we do with respect to yard art and ornaments?” That question ranks higher than “What is my home worth?” and “should I take down the family photos?” and there’s good reason for it. The very first thing people see when coming to your home is your yard art. And it can make a positive or negative impression. But, some people think that they may have too much yard art...

The Disappearing Clothesline
I was skimming through this month’s issue of the Northern New England Journey magazine put out by AAA and on the last page there was a short article about clotheslines called “For the Love of Laundry.” Basically, the writer was expounding on how she was happy to get back to hanging her laundry out on the line after a long winter and how doing so was a relaxing and enjoyable chore for her. It reminds her of her childhood days and trips to a cottage...

What's Not Hot… The Lakes Region Real Estate Market Report
Last week we explored what is hot in the real estate world as far as desirable home features. Now, for WNHW. That’s not a radio station, that’s “What’s not hot, Willie!” or things you might want to change if you can before you try to sell your home. Obviously, some things can’t be fixed, like the fact that you live next...

What's Hot?
Did you ever wonder why some homes sell quickly and others linger on the market a long time? Well, obviously a lot has to do with whether it is priced right or not or perhaps it's the location. But, certain home features are very desirable and help sell a home while there are other things that might deter a sale. So here is a list of some things that are hot when it comes to desirable...

The Native App
I was surfing around the real estate world on the internet and I happened across an article about “native real estate apps.” I don’t know why, but my first thought was about Tonto getting down of his pinto (whose name was Scout, naturally)...

The Inspection - Lakes Region of NH Real Estate Market Report
Having a property inspection is one of the biggest hurdles and a very important step in the home buying process. Buyers often ask whether they really need an inspection and my answer is always yes, yes, and yes regardless of whether the home is new or 200 years old. Every farmer checks out the horse’s teeth before he buys him.

Presidents' Day
There were just 61 residential home sales in January 2016 in the twelve communities covered by this Lakes Region Real Estate Market Report. Monday was Presidents’ Day. If I was in the car business I would write about the successful blow out...
