My first boat!

I bought her in 2005 for $1,200, replaced the starter, fuel lines and put in new seats. I drove her for ten great years and sold in 2015 for
$1,000. Considering what I pay to boat now with my new rig (see post #6), I kinda miss her, err not really! 1976 model she could cruise at 30 MPH on smooth water but pounded like heck in the chop! No power tilt and trim here, if you want to tilt the engine up or down you used your shoulder, LOL!

My father never threw anything away. Everything was "good stuff". I named the boat in memory of my father. He also used to say "Ta-da!" to my daughter all the time. She wanted me to name the boat Ta-da. I said no way.Attachment 11747

Hey, "Day Tripper" was the name of our Family's Second boat...a Century 4500! It is technically "DT2" the name of our current boat, the Crown-Line. I remeber on the Century, my Dad had a looped cassette tape of that song...he played constantly as we went along...good times!

Thanks for Keeping the name alive!

I love your tag line --

The ocean (or lake) itself is not dangerous, it's the hard stuff around the edges that will kill you."

Just about ready to go. I spent all day cleaning and polishing gel coat, vinyl, and glass. I have a couple cushions into Shorline Marine Upholstery. The stereo needs to be checked out (speakers cutting out) and the automatic halon fire suppression needs to be recharged.

Old Sarge 04-21-2016 07:16 PM

My wife a huge Beatles fan so I had little input on the name (which I do love of course) but I'll pass it along to the boss.

No licenses required . . . no age limit on operators . . . shallow draft . . . 6 hp 4 stroke. Grandkids and wife love it.

Greene's Basin Girl 06-16-2016 10:56 AM

That is adorable and much safer for young children. They will have so much fun on the lake with that pontoon boat.
