Opening Day

We'll be up on Saturday opening the cabin - Can't wait!

Give a wave should you pass by the south eastern end of Rattlesnake!

Just Sold 04-30-2010 04:36 PM

OCD and all those out on the lake this weekend I am envious.
Since I just got a new "Little" 14' boat (Just Sold Jr.) I will be working on it this weekend. I have not had time to register the trailer or the boat yet either. This week though. :D
Just think of me at home doing repairs and polishing the hull and interior. The trailer is a fully restored 1970 Tee Nee so that is all set.

Despicable!

There once was a cat from the lake
Whose dock some scoundrels did take.
Fat Lazy denied it,
But in the cam shot I spied it,
That's Less on the barge with R-Snake.

Merrymeeting 04-30-2010 09:54 PM

Everyone needs to go boating! Maybe out on the water we'll escape the black fly swarms!

Thankfully it was very windy today, enough to stop lots of boating. But also the flies! If you stepped anywhere out of the wind, you were attacked big time! Not sure which I prefer.

Spotted you and waved as you were leaving the Irving station at 104 today, also saw your happy reply. Hope all goes well with the new/refreshed powerplant!

Have a great weekend!

Less and Snake, so you say?
If that be true the price they'll pay
To heist a man's dock's a dastardly deed
Certainly belies The Forum creed
But what's the punishment that fits this crime?
At very least they should do time
Webmaster Don, won't you assist?
Perhaps a month on the dreaded blacklist
To this lofty stint they'd lend some stock
Perhaps enough to return my dock

tis 05-01-2010 08:33 AM

That is pretty sad that someone would stoop so low as to steal docks! Is this a new fad? I hope not! We are all so trusting around here, leaving boats just tied, not chained ---and who would think someone would have to worry about their dock????? I am in shock!!

ApS 05-01-2010 09:11 AM

A Wrong-Address-Repo?

1) Tis, if I were you, I'd put a lock on gas tanks. (If you recall last year's surprise).

2) It's not unknown for a bank to take "repossession" on the water. (Though repossession of a dock is stretching that point!) :eek2:

Maybe there should be a requirement for putting one's street address on everything we own, including on the shoreline? ;)

3) Those fortunate enough to have an aluminum boat (like FLL) should benefit from enhanced warmth from sunshine; however, I was just about to step out and enjoy the purported sunshine, when a huge dark cloud covered up the sky as far as I can see. (Westward). :(

Even if it does warm up later—it's 56° presently at 9:10AM—the cool lake will put a chill on boaters. (So keep a jacket handy).

Mee-n-Mac 05-01-2010 10:35 AM

I bow in your direction

Water temp over here is 39 degrees this morning. Wind coming up tonight and tomorrow, supplies won't be here until next week, boat is still shrinkwrapped. Going golfing.....

Acres, I HAD forgotten about that last year! How could I have? You are right, maybe we do need to lock things up.

What a GREAT weekend! I hope everyone enjoyed the lake as well! Great seeing a bunch of forum members and awesome time running with you Onlywinni. Was very surprised at the lack of boating traffic. It was really empty out there!

Good seeing you Liforelaxin. Thank you for the pit stop as well.

I burnt pretty much an entire tank.. We did a bunch of rides (my 2 year old couldn't get enough) Down to Shibleys for lunch on Saturday. Great time. Over to Rattlesnake and up to Braun Bay.. Only 3 boats there?? Under Long Island Bridge. Pretty much one side to the other....

Boat ran perfectly! Couldn't have asked for a better time. Well she is out now and having the dash cut up  to make way for the new GPS.. Looking forward to doing the install next weekend!

Great to see you and that Beauty of a boat on Sat...Never saw an A/T in person and now I know what you mean about handling big chop better than my Outlaw-can see it in the hull design.

I should have snapped some pics when we were skipping across the Broads Sat, but I was too busy with a Grin on my Face being back out there for the first time this season.

We were out again for a few hours yesterday-great weekend.

Met quite a few nice people in Alton and Meredith this weekend and talked boats and the lake.

thank you. Loved your Outlaw. The paint job is extremely cool and unique. I have not seen one like it ever. I have a couple of pics of you on the my phone and will get them over to you.

Great bunch of people out on the water this weekend for sure. I met a few as well. I did take a spin out yesterday but just a lesiurely cruise with my father and son. Pulled her out and off to the shop to have the GPS installed. I few more weekends of work and she will be up to my standards. :D

I am not sure of the weather or if I will get all my projects done next weekend but if you are around and would like to swing up my way, there is plenty of room at my dock for you.

OCD, It was great to see you as well. Especially that look of pure joy now that you and your vessel are back on the lake again. It was a wondrous sight seeing you coming across the lake and turning in. My family all enjoyed the visit as well.

OnlyWinni, sorry all my neighbors are slow on the dock situation, I would have enjoyed even more company but uhhhhh.... Well it was good to see you out there as well.

Anytime the boat cover is off I am home.

Meredith Meeting

Anyone know if there was some big cruiser meet-up at the Meredith town docks this past Sat ? Seemed like a disproportional amount of them there. I saw they weren't all the same make so it wasn't like a SeaRay round-up. IO was able to retrieve the Mee'n'Mac from her winter rest spot late Sun. Cloudy but otherwise nice out on the water. Very few boats out and about. From Meredith to Alton Bay I might have seen 10. The air off the water was refreshing (aka chilled) and it was interesting that when I made a swing by the sandbar the air off the land must have been 20 degrees warmer. Coming down Alton Bay you got alternating waves of warm and cold air.

Thanks...the color scheme/design on our Outlaw is Unique for sure and we love it!!! We get quite a few looks and thumbs up every time we go out...

I did snap a few shots of OCD in Alton and will pass those along as well.

If we make it up next weekend I will give you a shout.

As a medium crusier owner, I can tell you that a surprise nice day in the spring and fall is prime time for a public dock run. It usually it's not planned but it is very hard to get a crusier into Meredith or Wolfeboro mid-summer. A lot of us head there this time of year.

I wasn't ready in time for a Saturday stay, just did a drive by to check the pump-out. But Sunday we were there and so were a bunch of friends, some we haven't met yet.

So here I am Saturday tied up at the docks next to the sidewalk where they keep the fire boat enjoying my ice cream. It did seem like the good weather brought a lot of people to the dock in their cruisers to enjoy cocktail hour at the Town Docks. In the 15 minutes I was there two couples stopped to chat about my little 18 foot bowrider and to compare it to the monster cruiser parked behind me (my boat looked like its life boat). Fortunately I don't suffer from any boating inadequacy. Both couples asked about how much gas my boat used vs the cruiser. They thought my 4 gallons per hour was a lot. I couldn't even guess what the cruiser burned.

OK Scott, I've kept quiet all winter.....congrats on all the work on the boat. I talked with Steve and Karen at length Friday night after they dropped off Sammy...dinner w/ them at the White Mountain Hotel.. He's killing me! You are starting to make me jealous with the pictures. I'm getting a little ancy with you telling everyone they are all playing "catch up", I can't wait to get in the water!! You're killing me telling me you went to Shibley's for lunch last weekend (family's favorite for lunch)! Just kidding.....seriously, I will probably tow my beast up next weekend to Ossipee...weather doesent' look the best but we definitely need to get together!!! If I'm not boating I would at least like to come over and take a look at the AT up close. I have your home phone but not the cell, shoot me a pm with it and hopefully we can hook up. This should be a good year....finally. (BTW, I still have some props for you to try...I think I may have something that will at least try to fill the void of the hair dryer). Again congrats, she looks great!!:D

Thanks man.... I can't wait to get you on board. You were very nice to help fill the void where I was boat-less! Well most play catch up but from what I hear all I will see is your mist with that engine you finally have ready.

This weekend is going to be busy. I have a good friend coming up for the weekend to help me fix a couple odds and ends on the boat (little electrical items) and another good friend who is coming up on Saturday morning to hook up my GPS. I am hoping for good weather so we can go out on the lake and head somewhere for lunch. It would be cool if you can get yours in the lake!!! If not Feel free to come by on Friday anytime (I will be waxing and buffing weather permiting. coming up Friday morning) Should be working on her Saturday morning and pulling her on Sunday.

Will shoot you my cell #

Maybe we can get onlywinni and a few others out on the lake to meet up with us?

wpddep 05-04-2010 07:26 PM

Sounds great. I'm thinking of blowing off work Friday...if possible, wouldn't want to get in trouble with the boss (ha). I was actually in South Carolina when you went down to pick it up...I almost offered to tow it back for you but I know how it it is to get it back and your need for a test drive!! I was about 3 hours ahead of you going over the GW bridge (nightmare in the Denali never mind towing a boat!!). I would love to meet some of these forum members out on the lake. I'm not much of a poster (lurking a long time) but they all seem like great people, I truly am jealous! I hear SL is making an attempt on your GPS? I'll talk to you soon.

Thanks man.... I really enjoyed the test drive.. the GW was one of the worst moments I will ever remember.. No fun at all!

Everyone I have met on here are absolutely great people. You have to be somewhat careful of a few people that only appear from time to time to stir the pot but they won't ever want to meet up so no worries. :D

Actually it was a forum member I had met the offered to install the GPS. He is top notch! However SL will be there to help with the other small items and I will also be doing an oil change (5 hours on the new engine) you know how that goes!:D

Sweet.. I will be there by noon. Going to try out my new buffer and give her a much needed coat of wax.. We have a mutual friend who I'm sure wouldn't mind you parking your boat in their driveway :D That way you are right there to put her in on Saturday! You could even come by Friday nite for a fire. There may be a few forum members around as well who may come by. I am thinking if the weather holds up and we get the GPS in, heading to the Naswa. Do you think you small laker (ossipee) can do that?

wpddep 05-04-2010 07:55 PM

Yes, this "small laker" (aka no speed limit) can handle it!!! We definitely need to head to Sebago this year, you'll have a ball (nothing against Winni, just a completely different game!!)

In that case you need to head to VA with me.. You would be by far the fastest 25 in the run.. Maybe you could bring a mutual friend to ride with you or better yet convince him to bring the black knight with him. :D

wpddep 05-04-2010 08:19 PM

I'll try to "Convince" him. Sounds like I really need to meet "Onlywinni" although I must admit being a Checkmate owner, especially on OSO, I shouldn't even be mentioning Baja's:) Obviousle kidding, Onlywinni, from the pics I've seen that's one of the sharpest I've seen yet! Actually almost bought a 25 Outlaw myself before my boat (have to say that's one of the nicest I've seen around).
