I should be able to splash Friday. meet up with everyone if we can agree on a time and place. Saturday is doable, but the weather may not cooperate. Sunaday is Mother's Day folks. Unfortunately, I gotta Bail! ;)

Actually almost bought a 25 Outlaw myself before my boat (have to say that's one of the nicest I've seen around).

Thanks...Believe me I feel very fortunate that Checkmate and Active Thunder Guys will talk to me....:D

that's too bad! I probably won't be back until Memorial Day.. I have to get some yard work done and painting so I can then enjoy the actual Summer.. Last weekend was just a tease!

Property returned

Apparently the abductors of my dock have seen the errors of their ways and saw fit to return it to its proper place at the front of my property. I think the threat of the blacklist straightened them out.

I am still scratching my head over this one... I sure there is a story here.... not a good one on behalf of the abductors, that is for sure. To be a repo guy is bad enough, but to be caught repo the wrong stuff has to be out right embarrassing. Or hey even if it was a case of legitimate business removing something by request, to remove it from the wrong location is a big black eye. But at least in the end the dock is back in place, and GN can now start his boating season.

Hopefully this has not caused you to many headaches......

I found an earlier picture of the abductors maybe you can trace them down GN

Gatto Nero 05-05-2010 03:06 PM

Caught red handed! That pic was actually from this afternoon as they were returning it. I watched them live as they did it. At least they had the decency to completely put the dock in place, boards and all, for summer use. I had left it tilted up for winter storage and the boards stacked next to the house. I guess there's something to be said for considerate thieves :D.

Kracken 05-05-2010 03:12 PM

I am not sure what is more bizarre, people stealing your dock or returning it.

Are you sure you are not pulling our legs Cat?

What is even more bizarre is people who believe everything they read on the internet! :D

Kracken 05-06-2010 09:10 AM

OCD

We won’t be up to the island for another two weeks. The boat is still shrink-wrapped in the yard. For now I will have to live vicariously through winni.com. We are on the non-wimpy side of Rattlesnake, we are used to (and enjoy) being buzzed. :D

WOW, what a difference!

Last weekend: Beautiful weather, boat had no problems, very relaxing.......

One week later how everything can change.

Friday little windy but no worries speant 5 hours washing and waxing.

Strung a line over the boat and put up a tarp in case of rain.... Not that is was going to needed, WMUR called for cloudy skies with a chance of a passing thunder shower in the afternoon.

Wasn't that a T.F.! Tourist Forecast.

Speant all day under a tarp in the cold rain with (god bless them) two great friends installing electronics on the boat (gps, compass, meter, etc etc) Well first thing we smell is fuel and a lot of it. I thought I had over filled the tank some how and the fumes had built up under the tarp. After inspecting everything I find gas in the bildge and the gasket on the sending unit on top of the tank leaking. Well didn't our job priorities change.

Anyway 8 hours in the cold rain the GPS is in (thanks again dothemath!!) new meter is in and compass is almost there, need a special bracket from livorsi.

Today 4 hours in the cold raw weather with a howling wind off the bay fixing a gasket that should have taken 20 min but it was positioned that you had to use a 90 degree screw driver and get only 1/4 of a turn every time.

WOW...... what a difference. But good news is no more fuel leak. I flushed the bilge with gallons of simple green and ran a hose for 15 min.... Good thing I have great friends. I know a lot about boating but these guys take the cake! Thanks again!

robmac 05-09-2010 06:50 PM

OCD,that happened to me once and an old timer told me to mix a solution of baking soda and warm water it kills the gas and odor for good. Glad to hear no major mishap with the leak.

wpddep 05-11-2010 05:45 PM

OCD,

Didn't make it up until late Saturday.... no matter I see you had some issues I'm glad to see you got resolved. Shoot me some numbers (RPM 's at WOT, I don't need speed #'s). I know you're looking to get to 5250, let me know where you are at right now and what prop specs. I'll be up next weekend, I'll bring my spare props to let you try and see if we can't get you to where you want to be. I can drop them off at your parents or Steve's, just let me know. Your new installs are going to be great!.

Bob

Yup it definately wasn't a boating weekend. But I guess it worked out that I had to work on her all weekend anyway.

Thanks on the props but lets hold off right now. I am pushing 4850 with the 24 on there now. I just traded for a 24 polished and a friend of mine is giving me a 24 labbed. Let me see what happens with those two at WOT before you go through any trouble...

Right now I really just need to get the small projects done before I start adding to my "to do" list.

I won't be up next weekend, but I might be on the weekend of the 22nd and definately memorial day. So either way lets plan on having you by! Maybe run some prop tests!

Thanks for the tip.. Tom at Unique Boat was helpful. He said to find some strong detergent and run it through. I purchased about 2-3 gallons of Simple Green and dumped that down the bildge and let it run the length of the boat. Then let the hose run for 15 min or so. It worked and boy does it smell nice.. LOL.

robmac 05-12-2010 06:20 PM

And it's biodegradable. Glad no lasting issue. Hope the weekend gives me some good weather.

OCDACTIVE 05-13-2010 07:53 PM

Looks like it isn't going to be bad this coming weekend.. I am going to have to live vicariously through you all. Home to paint a shed, doors, edge the yard etc etc... Believe it or not I do things other then work on OCD... LOL...

So please post pics and let me know how it was.. Should be up the following weekend to finish odds and ends and hopefully it will be Great weather!

VtSteve 05-13-2010 08:03 PM

I was counting on some non rainy Saturday time to undo the shrinkwrap, polish the deck, do some cockpit and cabin cleaning. Following weekend polishing and finish up. Have to install a light or two, and scope out the stereo fir sizing. One of these days, I might actually put it in the water

robmac 05-14-2010 06:13 AM

OCD, I agree those bothersome tasks that disturb peace and tranquil boating time can really ruin a week. Well I better finish my list it's Friday. yipee back to the lake.

lawn psycho 05-16-2010 07:34 PM

Windy today!! Got out for about 2 hours today with the admiral. Headed down Alton Bay and over to Wolfeboro and then headed back.

Our boat does not have much room to clear the bridge in Alton, especially with the chop coming from the bay:eek::eek:

I've got a some serious boat envy of the guy with the big center console Fountain with triple outboards that passed us leaving Alton Bay. Not sure if it's the best lake boat, but would be perfect on the coast.

Dhuberty24 05-16-2010 08:33 PM

Boy the broads were fun today!!!! No boats and plenty of rollers

colt17 05-17-2010 11:17 AM

Sun 5/16

the wife and i went out for a ride yesterday around lunch time after some chores around the camp wind was whiping not much fun out there. But the sun was out and the sky was blue so..... :)

OCDACTIVE 05-17-2010 11:32 AM

What a great weekend for all of you lucky enough to be on the water!!!

I luckily got those "other" tasks accomplished... You know yard work, painting, washing etc etc... So now I can concentrate on more important items................Like washing, waxing, polishing, prop testing etc etc :D

I will be up this coming Friday and the weather is looking spectacular!!!

Any good plans? who's going to be around?

Woodsy 05-17-2010 11:41 AM

LIforrelaxin 05-17-2010 07:20 PM

Planning to be up Friday evening hopefully by about 7.... And assuming the weather is good on Saturday, Jess the boys and I will probably spend most of the day wondering around the lake.

Now this assumes that nothing in the way of wedding plans suddenly changes and we have to change directions suddenly...

BroadHopper 05-17-2010 09:17 PM

this weekend
