Just bought her yesterday.. Look forward to seeing you all out there!!!!

hazelnut 04-11-2009 12:58 PM

Beauty, can't wait to see her on the lake. Congrats.

TomC 04-11-2009 01:07 PM

45 mph

going to be tough keeping it under the limit...:(

OCDACTIVE 04-11-2009 01:11 PM

I will get flammed for this... but whatever... LOL

searay220 04-11-2009 01:23 PM

I hope the gas prices stay low enough so you can enjoy the boat. Just limit the tubing/wakeboarding.

OCDACTIVE 04-11-2009 01:27 PM

Thanks.. I agree..... Gas could be very tough.. Good part is I will be trailering it so at least I won't have to fill up on the lake.

Probably not the best boat to be tubing behind. I have a 17 foot fishing boat that would work much better.

I don't think the person being towed would enjoy a rooster tail in the face LOL

jst_4_kiks 04-11-2009 02:54 PM

nice looking boat. clean. specs??? i see a procharger on the 500 efi. length, year, tow vehicle?

if it were my boat, need graphics on the sides.

have fun

see ya out there

OCDACTIVE 04-11-2009 03:23 PM

I am going to have the active thunder logo (same as my avatar) on the rear side. I like the all white, clean looking.. But who knows maybe something in the future.

It does have a procharger. It is a 1999 active thunder savage 28 feet. I have a F250 so no worries there.

brk-lnt 04-11-2009 03:30 PM

Congrats. Looks perfect for the lake, hope to see you out there this year.

jrc 04-11-2009 04:04 PM

Excuse my ignorance, but what's a procharger? The headers look like they go straight to the transom so it's not a turbo charger, is it a supercharger?

Never mind the speed limit, how are you going to meet the noise limit?

OCDACTIVE 04-11-2009 04:09 PM

Yes to compare it to automotive mechanics it is a supercharger.

I will definatley have to get mufflers.. I thought about turn downs but that will only solve the problem if I am not up on plain around "the man"... So I am going to look for something that is easy to install and remove. No where else I go has noise or any other type of limits.... So just another hassel to overcome.

She's A Pretty Boat....

OCDACTIVE, best of luck on your new boat!

jst_4_kiks 04-12-2009 12:33 AM

jrc-procharger vs. supercharger

procharger: basically the same as a supercharger as used in a car. procharger is water cooled and a supercharger is oil cooled from the engine oil. like a big air pump that pushes air into the engine intake (boost) for MORE power. small package to make big power. can be put almost any inboard engine.

see the chrome/polished piping coming off the side of the charger going to the intake?

supercharger: needs a intercooler to cool the "charged" air. oil cooled. huge piece on top of the engine.

search the web for more info. thats what i know of them

robmac 04-12-2009 10:01 AM

Looks great best of luck with her, look forward to seeing you out on the water.

BroadHopper 04-13-2009 06:54 PM

She's a beauty!

I find putting on the biggest prop that the boat can handle helps keeps the GPH up. Give her a name so that I know its you and i will give you the wave!

OCDACTIVE 04-13-2009 07:08 PM

I am putting Active Thunder. The same as my Avatar on the rear quarter of each side. The previous owner had a 5 blade.. big pitch and it caused too much stern lift. There is a 32 on there now which seems to work great.. Not too much prop slip and pushing 86 - 88 mph you really can't complain. :D

Unfortunately,I guess you'll have to do that on Winnisquam now.

OCDACTIVE 04-14-2009 09:00 AM

Or just not get caught...

I highly doubt they are going to be gunning people in the middle of the broads...... But we shall see... :D

Woodsy 04-14-2009 09:23 AM

The Kayakers don't have to worry about the hats.. LOL..

I bought a set of head wraps for that reason... (already lost one in Long Island sound test driving her:eek:)

fatlazyless 04-15-2009 09:20 AM

...way nice looking boat.....how many gallons to fill the gasoline tank, and how many quarts to fill the engine oil crankcase....use synthetic or regular oil?...... just wondering?

OCDACTIVE 04-15-2009 09:22 AM

the gas tank is close to 100 gallons 93 octane. not sure on how many quarts but everything is all synthetic.

Misty Blue 04-15-2009 05:37 PM

I'm sure you guys will have quite the race at 45mph... :rolleye2:

This is a good thread though, we should either turn this into a place for eveyone to show off their new toy for the season, or maybe start a new thread for it. I'll post pics of mine next week when I pick it up.

My 22 Stingray with the tabs gets to 45 very quick. It's only a small block, but I'm on plane and trimming up in just a few seconds. I guess it's after that point I'd have to worry, or start making excuses about fouled plugs and all that :emb:

SAMIAM 04-20-2009 10:04 AM

Just trying to get a rise out of you.OCDACTIVE.......I had an older 3x2 with a modified big block....sold it and moved to a deck boat......it was fast but pretty noisy.....my neighbors like me now.
I'm just droolling over your new AT...they are a quality boat and I know you'll have a great time with it.Have you had it out yet?

SIKSUKR 04-20-2009 11:05 AM

I hate to tell you guys but I think most big PWC's might be the quickest to 45 mph.I'll meet you there!

OCDACTIVE 04-20-2009 11:20 AM

Thank you SAMIAM.. I actually go pull her home this Friday.. (having trouble sleeping.. LOL)

I plan on putting her in down in Mass on May 9th. (I won't have any type of mufflers then) my first time on the lake will be memorial day if all goes well.

Siksukr - I think that is a given.. A lot harder to bring 7500 lbs + up to speed then 600 lbs... Unfortunately I think the PWC group will be targeted the most out there. (not that they already haven't been)

Yup, my Sea Doo gets there pretty quick, even with my fat butt riding it. I don't get more than about 55 out of it though, which is fine with me. I might be on a newer Sea Doo this summer...we shall see how much extra coin I can save up.
