Sad Story

It's the same story everywhere for accidents on waterways. I'm just posting this as a reminder to all that think these things will never happen to them. Doesn't really matter where it happened, it happens everywhere.

At least the operator owned up to his egregious mistake. But such a young life is gone. :(:( Please think of these tragedies when you're out on the water. Think of the people in your boats, the loved ones, and be careful, don't drink.

The operator is guilty of horrific negligence. My thoughts and prayers for the poor girl and all of the injured.

There is a time and place for every thing. I fully support MP efforts to eradicate BWI.

Boat occupancy

My 23 ft bowrider is rated for 11. No surprise that it could hold that many.

11 people in a 23' is a boatload of people,,,

I think thats more than I would care to take out.

Not just number of people

My 19 ft bowrider is rated at 8 people or 1200 lbs. That would be 8 people weighing 150 lbs each. Five friends my size and I would have my boat overloaded and that is without counting "stuff" in the boat.

Condolences to all concerned.
