Sushi In Wolfeboro??

Is there any? I checked East of Suez's menu and they don't serve it. I've also tried Lemon Grass but really don't feel like driving that far tomorrow evening.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

...sorry.

Does West Lake Asian serve sushi? Can't find their website.

West Lake does not serve sushi. Once in a while, East of Suez has maki rolls as a special. We could really use a good sushi joint on this side of the lake. Best sushi I've found in the area is at Delaney's Hole in the Wall in North Conway. Worth the drive IMO.

...I may take the drive. Been all around the lake a few times, but I haven't ventured up that way. Thanks for the tip!!!

Doesn't the Wolfetrap in Back Bay have a raw bar? Never been so I don't know if it is any good or not.:D

The Chinese joint in Gilford near WalMart has sushi. Can't recall the name. Only been there once.

Best value - head over to Red Apple Buffet in Concord in the Heights. Sushi's included in the buffet. $10 all you can eat. You make your money back quick if you like sushi

no raw bar at Wolfetrap that I have ever seen..

def no sushi

Peking Tokyo is the restaurant in Gilford. It does have sushi and on several visits a few years ago we were favorably impressed.

I've had the sushi at Peking/Tokyo, and while it is quite good, I prefer Delaney's Hole in the Wall in North Conway.

I would never eat at an "All-You-Can-Eat" sushi buffet. When it comes to sushi, I'll take quality over quantity any day. :)

Just to note that the old Peking-Tokyo in Gilford is now the Taipei-Osaka. It changed hands a few years ago.

We've not been there recently but the above suggests their sushi is still good.

The Whittier House was at a Taste of New Hampshire dinner I attended at the Mt. Washington Hotel a few years ago and their sushi was excellent. I'd give em a try.

This comment is on the home page. Does this imply only every third Thursday for sushi? Just to alert you.

A taste of Japan in the mountains! Offering a full line of Japanese Beverages as well as dining from our regular menu and full service bar.
The 3rd Thursday of each month.

People, please do not confuse Chinese cuisine with Japanese. You may get "sushi" at a successsful "Chinese" restaurant, but a "Japanese" restaurant will never have anything "Chinese" on their menu. For some there is a deep, ancient racial issue between their 2 cultures, so please be cognizant of that fact when you patronize their establishments.

If you want the best sushi, go to a Japanese restuarant. The preparation of and resulting presentation is considered an art and takes many years of training. IMHO, the best that I have found in the area is Moritomo in Concord. Yes, it is an hour away from the Lake. Call ahead and pick up takeout during the ride to the Lake--it's right off of I93.

Alternatively, if you ever get to Rochester Hills MI, I would highly reccommend Take' Sushi on Walton blvd as that is THE best place that I have found stateside outside of Osaka.

Seconded. Moritomo's is a great place to go for sushi, a hibachi grill meal (or is it a meal and a show?), or just for general sit down fare.

I wasn't confusing Chinese cuisine with Japanese. I just know there are a limited number of sushi restaurants around the lake and didn't know if there was a "hidden" spot anywhere close by. I had no idea El Centenario was in Wolfeboro, for example, and that place gets great reviews.

And I've been to Moritomo and it was just okay in my opinion. Certainly not worth the hour drive.

I enjoyed one of the three rolls I had at Lemon Grass but that was my fault entirely. I didn't read the menu too carefully when ordering...too hungry.
I'm looking to find a new place.

I know I'm not going to find a Nobu or an O Ya here in the Lakes Region but I enjoy sushi immensely and was just seeking out advice.
