Blue Angles coming to New England Air Show

I though this may interest some folks here. The Blue Angles are going to be performing at the NE Air show in Portsmouth NH at Pease International Trade Port August 28th and 29th. If you've never had an opportunity to see the US Navy Blue Angles you're in for a really spectacular show. I've seen them numerous times and they put on one heck of a show. Kids of all ages will love it too.

Here's the web site for more info... http://www.newenglandairshow.com/

This is the first time in 20 years they are going to be performing there. Plus there will be a whole lot of other aircraft, military and civilian on display. They will also be doing demonstration flights of various aircraft too.

I am certainly going. Praying for clear sky's so they can do the high altitude show as well. I worked at Hanscom AFB for over 20 years and helped to put on several shows. So I have seen the Thunderbird's, and the Blue Angles a few times. Can't wait. If you have never seen an Air Show now is the time to support your troops, and gain some Military Aviation History background.

Air Show from Little Bay

A group of us go down and raft in Little Bay, right adjacent to the runway. A lot of the performance goes on directly overhead!

I am a lousy photographer but I'll try to get some decent shots this year if I can...:D

The boss and I saw the Blue Angels this past April on our annual Key West Trip. In a word... AWESOME!

Just a few of the hundreds of pics.

I hope they will repeat the "Heritage" flights in Portsmouth. It was unbeliveable to see the generations flying tip to tip.

Should be a great show, I'm hoping to go as well.

SteveA, those are pretty good pics considering the subject is moving pretty darn fast.

So somebody in a boat will be going around to collect money from Skip in Great Bay?You don't need to be at Pease to to see them perform.

I saw the Thunderbirds perform a long time ago at Pease from the road (Rte 27?) where it crosses over 95. They came over the end of the runway at what seemed lower than the top of the lightpoles. Whew! We were on the overpass and it seemed like they were flying right at us before they banked hard into a turn. The next year they came they were much higher up. That was when the base was an active AF base. Now I suspect you can get much closer without having to go on to what was the base.

We've been to many air shows at Brunswick, ME; Westfield, MA; RI and so on and NEVER had we HAD to pay. It's all by donation. They all charge a "donation" for parking and that's all. Figure, we pay for the planes, the base the show it's on and everything on it for show and so forth. I cannot believe they are charging $20 for admission and another $10 for parking. It's ridiculous and not right.

There's a show with the Air Force Thunderbirds this weekend in Mass and they only they're asking is a $10 donation for parking. I realize that the one in Pease is all for charity but it should be a donation only and not mandatory. We've never seen anything like it.

On a bright note, we've seen both the Thunderbirds and the Blue Angels and they are incredible. It never gets old no matter how often you see them. The static displays are really great too. I know that the last time we went to Westover we saw the Stealth Bomber and it was quite a site to see. :D

The Blue Angles Rock!...

Last I saw them, was at the Waymouth Naval Air Station in Ma. , other than a brief flyover in other parts of our Country.

My father inlaw was with and a pilot for Austria during the second World War. He was absolutely thrilled by their performance, as the rest of us!

To this very day, us old folk roll, and they Rock & Roll!!!!
Love,

Terry
