Lees Mills dog ban 9/10-19

Found in the Meredith news: The town of Moultonboro has granted the Le's Mills Steamboat Assn., Inc., permission to exclude all dogs from the Moultonboro Town Docks at Lee's Mills during the period September 10-19, except medical service dogs.

That is an interesting thing..... I wonder why.... my guess would be because to many people have brought dogs in the past and let the poop and have not cleaned it up... and then of course there is also all that wonderful wood work that dog claws certainly make a mess of....

As a dog owner I find myself with mixed emotions on this... on one hand I do understand. On the other hand I am responsible for with my dogs so why the hell do I have to pay the price for those that are less responsible....

I guess the dog days of summer will be officially over at Lee's Mills when the Steamboat Rally begins.

Is it when that part of the lake is being treated for milfoil? I don't have my letter with me, but the dates seemed familiar. Trying hard to remember, I think it said to keep dogs out of the water and not to use lake water for anything. But you think they'd post it as such, so maybe not?

So I guess with all these restrictions on dogs--and the darn tooting those boats do is very noticeable, I used to live on a house right on that bay--can be alleviated by having that magical piece of paper.

How does one get it?

As a self-described dog person, can I qualify? http://blog.mellowmonk.com/2007/01/d...ce-stress.html

As I understand it, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), is very broad indeed, incorporating mental health.

I can't imagine why the steamboats and the dogs don't mix.

I hope I read this correctly and it means only the docks proper and not the ramps and parking area etc. I walk my dog there regularly and don't intend to not do so for that period. We have no business on the docks themselves.
