Governors Island Attack?
 

Don't know if this is true but it was rumored that there was some kind of attack to a house on governors island? The rumor was that they came in boats? I think I even heard from one person about ninjas? Like I said I don't know if its true but its what I heard and im just stating the "facts" of the story I heard.

If anyone can add to this id like to find out more.

This was a story in the local papers like maybe five years ago and it included a husband-wife separation or something, trying to take the children late at night or something, hand guns, local police, Marine Patrol, and a big fancy-dancy victorian house on Gov Isl that directly faces the Weirs Channel opening or something. If I weren't so lazy, I would do a Union Leader search for 1999, 2000 for Winnipesaukee, Governor's Island, attemped kidnapping and see what's up.

I'm to lazy as to research as well, but as memory serves me the name was Sandra Chownrith , or sounds like. She, and her gang that couldn't shoot straight attempted something along the line of a ninja attack as you mentioned. When arrested, they had the plans on paper and other smart moves. She amazingly got off more or less scott free. One of Sistis earlier big profile court wins. If you do archive it, it would probably be funny in retrospect. Probably wasn't funny for the family at the time, as the intent was to kill and kidnapp.

NO I was not drunk or under the influence of any foreign substances when i heard this. Another boater at my marina simply was telling me about it. I tried a search of the citizen and found nothing, if this did happen in fact, i would imagine that it would be a larger story. Maybe hes wrong.

Will, how well do you know this other "boater" this story seems a little far fetched to be true, but then again after a few Coronas all stories sound great. :D :D :D

It's absolutely true...quite a few years back
 

The story is absolutely true although it occurred well over 5 years ago. The ninja aspect coincided to the days where the teenage mutant ninja turtles and Steven Segal were popular thus the ninja term was used quite often. It involved a very prominent family that owned insurance businesses in this state (I don't want to use the name as I am sure they want to put it behind them).

It involved an ex-spouse of one of the son's. They were dressed in black, they did come by boat, they did use stun guns and fortunately no one was seriously hurt. I am sure that archives of the Citizen as well as the Union Leader and Nashua Telegraph would detail the story in full.

I happened to be on the lake that morning and as we were passing under the Govenors Island bridge we saw that the Island was sealed off. At this time they had not found the "ninjas" yet and it was pretty scarry.

They found detailed plans on how the "ninjas" were going to kill all the adults in the home and kidnap the children.

It sure had all the makings of an extremely horrible event.

Chandra Chowanic was the girl involved . The police also funs elaborate plans and weights and ropes to sink the bodies.
