Pretty sky pictures from past trips
I'm not a new reader, but am new to posting. I wanted to share some pictures I took on my last few trips up to the lake. (I don't have the good fortune to live there anymore... but I visit as often as I can).

I like the moon one. We see a lot of sunsets and sunrises etc....not a lot of moon pics over the lake.....
Sweet! |
Welcome!

You are killing me with these beautiful pictures. Makes me long for my lake.
And it is mine, you know. Waaaaaahhhhhhh! nj2nh |
Youn see the forum should have it's own Lakes region book published. Like the WMUR books. We could put in Stories, Pictures, things to do's, reviews....Sell and give the money (minus publishing) to a good charity.

The Photos Are Great!
The Forum photographers never cease to amaze me with their wonderful photos. I can never get enough of sky photos with their changing hues and cloud formations. Moon shots are especially difficult to capture and the one you have posted is terrific. There is nothing more enjoyable than walking or gliding along on skis in mid winter when the moon is reflecting its light on a snow-covered countryside. Witnessing such beauty leaves one completely in awe with the wonders of this old world. I also enjoy the bird and animal photos immensely, as well. Thanks everyone. Keep ‘em coming.

Here is a great one I took about 8:50 pm on 4th of July, 2010. Anyone care to guess where it was taken?

I'll guess the Northeast tip of Browns Island...

Missing Winni....
Down here on the ocean in Florida and looking at pictures of Winni and missing it terribly. Yes, we have the best of both worlds, but if we had to choose just one place, Winni would be it! I'm looking at that marsh picture and hoping to see a moose. In May I made a bet with my husband that this would be the summer he sees his first moose, but it didn't happen. I think next May we'll head up to Pittsburgh, Moose Alley. Hey, just wondering if Winni has seen a killing frost yet.....
|
do a google for Moose Tours in NH. You will find a few. take your Husband on one of them. Some guarantee sitings.
Has been cold but no frost yet in Moultonborough as of today. It did snow most of the day Thursday at my house. Didn't even come close to sticking.... |

It looks so lonely without all the boats at all those docks. Winter has its virtues, but an empty, silent lake isn't one of them. No matter how gorgeous it is there (and even here in Jersey) on a snowy morning, nothing beats waking up to pink skies, loons and, yes, the sound of boat engines heading out early in the morning. I dream about it come the dead of winter and long for that ice out come spring.
<<sigh>> nj2nh |
Well here is another lonely dock for ya then....:D
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...gb/bwdock3.jpg A dense grey fog rolls in creeping from the winter lake. Smothering the colors or the day it coats all the eye can see clinging to every possible shape creating a surreal blurred world. Hazy smudged edges mere outlines of shapes the fog hidden outdoors waits. Is it bland this fog? How it maims our vision? Steals the colors from our hungry eyes? Carefully hiding the objects of the distance? Perhaps it is misunderstood this fog, this mist that 'harms' the vivid pictures our minds 'would have' painted. Thoughtfully it brings in the beauty keeping it safe in its depths holding the world close. It keeps it from our scrutinizing eyes. Until the wise fog all the images of the outdoors had gone seen yet unprocessed. Such a selfless fog it covers it's friend the sun protectively sheltering it so that the next time it peeks its head to enthusiastically greet our eyes the welcome will be returned. by Stephanie Milly |
