NECN plug
The WeirsCam and Winnipesuakee.com were just used as the intro to the weather on New England Cable News (NECN).
The weatherman talked about the ice skimming over the lake with no wind to break it up. |
This isn't the first time Tim Kelley has used the WeirsCAM in his reports. Here's a screen shot from January 2007. I'll try to get one from today's report if they post it online.

He looks cold!

Love Tim Kelly. Had him over to my skihouse a few winters back. He had to pay me back a beer for a bet on what the snowfall would be at Cannon one weekend. Yup Tim, I know Cannons weather better than most meteoroligists.
|
Tim just gave a plug for Snake Eyes as the lead in to the weather. (Don, 9:36 on Sat if you are looking for the post)

Watching noon news today. Tim is using Rattlesnake Cam as his background and talking about the lack of ice-in.

NECN, You have my permission to use Snake Eyes for the weather reports. It would be nice to have the name of the cam mentioned.
My concern with commercial use is someone using my work to sell and make profit. I don't want my images framed in a restaurant without permission amongst other things. The news is a public benefit (though they probably do make a profit). My purpose with the cam and the website is so I can see the lake conditions and to provide a public service. Ice would be nice! ;) IG |

Don always has the right answer!

Hi IG,
FWIW, Tim did have a big banner at the top of the picture that said "Rattlesnake Island Cam", or something like that. |
I Agree

I've seen Tim use a few different cams from Winni.com on his weathercast and he always has the name of the cam displayed over the image.
