Island Power Updates
 

Could those who have information please give an update as to the status of power on the islands. Selfishly, I'm interested in Rattlesnake, but I'm sure there are many who are looking for information about their own camps.

No power on Welch Island as of this morning.

west alton marina was out of power from sunday @ 11:00 a.m. to Monday @ 11:30 a.m. :eek:

Like some others I call the house; if the answering machine picks up, I have power. If it doesn't, I don't.

There are some lines down on Mark a few houses down from the feed from Bear. Not sure what the plan is. Hopefully we can be live by Friday. According to the NHEC outage map they have come a long way since yesterday. Running back and forth to keep feeding the generator is no fun, but I'd rather not lose the food.

According to NHEC latest map update, the island is without power. :( Oh, my frozen food! :emb:

My neighbor just got a message from the COOP stating that the power had been restored but they are on the island and it is still out. The map lists 10 or less left in Gilford without it. Still on a generator...

Mink Island has power now
 

Yay! Now if I could just get it back in Norwell, MA....

Has a recording that all power should be restored by 7:00 pm.

My neighbor who is on the island says there is lot of debris down, but the most of it seems more toward the southern tip of the island. Power has been down since 12:30 pm on Sunday.

Mark is live finally. I believe we feed Mink so it has been on for a few hours.

So what is this NH CO-op electrical thing
does it work on PSNH?
is there savings
how does it work, is it like buying heating oil when you belong to a group?
I notice a lot of people are apart of it

can a mainlander in Laconia use it?

Not a coop where you can buy power.
 

NHEC provides electricity to several communities the same as PSNH does. Also National Grid and Unitil are two others. It simply depends on where you live as to who is providing the power.

They are a separate provider/power company for certain areas/towns. I don't believe you can just "join" like OTC.

Island Power Outages
 

Our cove on South Bear had power restored around noon today. Metrocast cable came back on, too.

Still no power on Welch as of 8:00 P.M. tonight. Trees have taken wires down on broads side of island...

Cow Island Power
 

A customer of mine said the power is back on and they're on Cow Island across from Pick pt. on Tuftonboro neck.

Definitely no deals at the Co-op. The name is a total misnomer.

Still has no power. NHEC is saying it should be back up some time today.

Wow, is the stuff in the fridge going to STINK!!! Hopefully, nothing ran out the door onto the indoor/outdoor carpeting that's in that area.......

Guess I should have cleaned out the perishable stuff before leaving the island.

Rattlesnake, Treasure and Sleeper Islands
 

Wish I cleaned out our refrigerator too! The freezer was chock full! :emb:

NHEC latest update at 12:30 pm states that there are approximately 780 without power and there are crews on Treasure, Sleepers and Rattlesnake Island working to get it up and running.

They said that all power should be restored by 9:00 pm. Lets hope!

Welch update
 

The generator is still running however the PSNH crew is here, just getting back to work from lunch break at Nickerson's. As of 1:30 they expect to light-up the south branch shortly. The north branch fuse is still down, there was a large tree down near Winter Harbor. They hope to light-up the north branch in about two hours. I'll report if that happens.

Snake Eyes is back
 

There is power on Rattlesnake Island.... at least my part of the island which comes from the northern tip.

Hopefully the rest of us do too! NHEC recently updated the map and there are not outages showing on the islands.
Can't wait to get back to the island.

Power is on.

BTW, the PSNH crew did a great job, large trees down on both north and south sides. Island work is hard work, all on foot and old fashon climbing. At the end they came by our camp to make sure we had power.

I see power on at our camp on welch also.
Will be interesting to see what the freezer looks like when I come up :laugh:

We heard that the Southern / Eastern circut on Rattlesnake powered back up at 3:30 today. Thank you Nancy for letting us know.
