Cattle Landing dock-replacement
Looks like the Cattle Landing dock will get demolished and totally replaced between October 11 and approximately November 10 according to a notice posed at the dock by the Town of Meredith. It will be closed starting on October 11, and any construction info updates should be posted in www.meredithnh.org/1index.php.
Wonder if the new town dock will have a sign identifying it or will it remain anonymous? |
Its about time, the dock has been a mess for a few years.
There was a broken post last week on one side and a metal bracket exposed on the other side. |
Can recall reading somewhere, probably the LaDaSun, that the new dock construction will cost the town about $125,000.
For what it's worth, just up the road at #22 Cattle Landing Rd, http://www.realtor.com/realestateand...3_M31771-00206 there's a condo-house that has been on the market since it was built by the builder-owner in about 2006, and it remains un-sold at about $3,000,000. Without a doubt, this new town dock construction close to the un-sold condo-house, should be all it takes to make it go from un-sold to sold!:rolleye2: What's kind of interesting is that this condo-house has never, as far as I can recall, had a real estate 'For Sale' sign posted up-front on the road. So.....gee-whiz....maybe if they posted one of those red & white, $1.29. hardware store 'For Sale' signs out front, it would get sold? Sure seems odd they do not post a "For Sale" sign on a house they is trying to sell? Just up the road at 88 Cattle Landing, that beautifull place, set on a skinny peninsular, got sold in maybe 2007 or 2008, just before the big crash, for about 2.4-mil, and that's one heck of an incredible location and a heck of a 'russian hockey player house!' That Cattle Landing town dock and free, non-stickered town parking lot is a super-terrific location for launching a kayak, or launching a snowmobile, plus the un-paved, dirt parking lot is immediately close to the water! And, except for a one month time period when someone put up a very nice, engraved wood sign that announced "Cattle Landing," the town dock has never-ever had a town sign to identify it, going back to 1992. Looking around the Town of Meredith, every other town property always has a town sign that identifies it for what it is, but apparently, down at the Cattle Landing town dock, it has always been very anonymous. www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/anonymous |
