Any seaplane accessible Restaurants in the area?

Does anyone know of restaurant in the Lakes Region on any of the bigger lakes that is accessible by seaplane?
(Aside from Alton Bay)?

My dad's birthday is coming up and I have a friend who owns a seaplane a short distance away, I thought it would be cool to have him fly into Alton Bay, pick us up, and fly somewhere to a restaurant as a surprise to my father.

My friend with the seaplane may be the best bet to check with, but you guys never cease to amaze me with local knowledge :D

I would think that any restaurant with docks would accomodate a seaplane....how about Church landing (Lakeshouse)........only problem is if the plane exceeds 45MPH at landing, you'll be over the speed limit and Rusty will be out there calling Marine Patrol :laugh::laugh:

After landing you'd need to come in at headway speed.

Beach seaplane by Bay Point Inn (Lago Restaurant), where there used to be seaplane rides many years ago.
Then call any restaurant for transportation, unless stay at Lago or walk!

Is the Alton ice runway still open?

Seaplane accessible restaurants...

At this time of year with very quiet boat traffic, you could probably land most anywhere there was enough space. I have seen seaplanes in Wolfeboro Bay, and there are several very nice restaurants right downtown within walking distance.

Sounds like a great party for your Dad, good luck.

I have seen people beach a float plane on the public property just to the left of the Center Harbor beach. They park right in front of the square brick "whatever it is" building next to the shore. One Bear Island resident would park his plane there while he went grocery shopping.

From there it is a short walk or shuttle ride to Canoe Restaurant.

Thanks for all the replies. That should get me started!

Are there any restaurants on Newfound Lake?

YES.

You could fly to northern part of state and Connecticut Lakes, where there are restaurants and cabins.

The Big Catch is right on the beach on Newfound lake

The same owner owns a steak place right up the street as well, easily in walking distance, maybe less than 5 minutes.

Could run the plane right onto the beach

Have to see if they are open for the season though

I don't believe either of these restaurants will be open until Memorial Day weekend (or nearly so). Call ahead. You might also check out the Inn at Newfound Lake
