Burlesque - Pitman's Freight Room
 

Starting tonight, April 25, at 7:30-pm, Pitman's Freight Room in downtown Laconia, had its' first Wednesday night burlesque revue show. Admission is twelve dollars. I was not there and am looking for someone who saw the revue and what they thought and how entertaining was it? Like, you know, how was the show?

Maybe I should try googling "Burlesque Pitman's Freight Laconia" just to see what comes up in the local newspapers?

I was there, however I am biased as I was IN the show. All I can tell you is that the audience began laughing at the first dumb joke (and believe me, they are dumb) and didn't stop until the last dumb joke. It is very fast paced. We do short skits, black outs (which are just quick line liners), we have dancing girls and a special guest each week. We didn't have a sell-out crowd but did well for our first night. Every Wednesday through June 13 (off on May 16) with a new show. Doors open at 7, show at 7:30. BYOB.....there are refreshments for a minimal charge.

The doors open at 7:00 pm and the performance starts at 7:30 pm and last until about 9:00 pm.

I am not on here much so I guess I wasn't aware there is a calendar. We are performing every Wednesday through June 13. No performance on May 16. Doors open at 7, BYOB, performance at 7:30.

Has anyone on here made it to Pitman's yet? Interested in feedback. The audience has steadily grown over the 3 weeks we have been running. We are off next Wed, 5/16, but return on 23 and 30th of May and 6 and 13 of June. Really interested in what anyone might have to say.

The public reading of the not very pleased opinion letter from the Laconia City Council with regards to the burlesque show was all very funny, especially many of the local references.

Theres some great talent there on the burlesque stage what with about ten different performers all strutting their stuff.

Thanks for the feed back on the burlesque show.

Zach has been a wonderful emcee! The audience is growing every week and people laugh. That is all I know! We have such fun doing the shows, especially for such appreciative audiences. We were off on the 16th, back on 5/23 and 5/30, then again 6/6 and 6/13. Hopefully this isn't our last run at Pitman's. Such a wonderful venue.

Tonight is the final burlesque show in this series. The doors open at 7 pm, and the show begins at 7:30 at Pitman's Freight Room (Fabulous venue), 94 New Salem Street, Laconia. 603-556-9695 for reservations. Tonight we had a request for what has been the favorite 5-minute fairy tale, "Cinderella". The step-sisters are........well, they have to be seen to be believed. And there is a twist to the ending on this one. Lots of fast paced skits, all the stupid jokes you can handle, dancing girls, and fabulous guest singers. BYOB. $12.00 admission. Join us for the final show in the series. We hope to be back in the fall!
