Caught a HUGE rainbow fishing
Mrs ToW and I were fishing on the Ossipee big lake a week ago and caught a rainbow so big my ruler couldn't measure it.
Look at how the fishing rod bent on the strike!!! :D ToW |
We cought some Browns as well.
We also cought a couple nice Brown Trout as well.
Mrs. ToW with her nice 21 inch brown: Me thinks she was happy and supprised! Of course I couldn't let her beat me so I cought a nice 22 inch brown. She was a good sport about my fish being bigger. http://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopo...m/ToW_Fish.jpg We had a GREAT three weeks at the lake. ToW |
WOW...........nice fish. Did you have them for dinner????
|
one
The one that Mrs ToW cought was released. The one I cought tore his gill and died so it will be dinner.
I have a highly oxigenated live well on the boat and we make sure the fish are healthy and good to go back in the lake. Mine died during the effort to revive. We release all the fish we catch except the ones that die. ToW |

How deep were your down riggers set and what were you trolling. Thanks. |
Two "Bows"?
If you look close you can see a second rainbow.

Pretty fish, nice job.
Looks like a Laker and a Salmon to me. |
not a Brown
The first fish does look like a Brown trout (Lakers have forked tails), but the second fish is definitely a salmon.
|
Sorry the second one is not a salmon. Tail is a dead giveaway.
|
I disagree. Salmon do not necessarily have forked tails, but the area just above the tail thins out (as it does in this case) and the jaw does not extend beyond the eye.
|
Are you talking about the caudal peduncle and the maxillary?
|
Jonus Pilot NO, they are talking about the fish!
