Leavitt Park Meredith

Can you anchor near the park and swim to the beach? If so how far should you stay away from any swim area float lines. Is there any other things I should or should not do if I anchor.

Thanks

I know I'm not directly answering your question but I noticed two weekends ago that they had duck itch warning signs posted at the beach.

No idea what it takes to make duck itch "go away". Maybe a good heavy rain or wind event?

I had to look it up . . .

I'm sure somebody will correct me if I'm wrong , but I see no reason why you couldn't anchor off any public beach and and wade or swim in. Make sure your anchor is set and keep an eye on your boat. I wouldn't anchor "in front" of the float line but off to the sides.

The redshirts in Gilford will stop you from entering the town beach from a boat, even a paddle boat. They have signs facing the water, saying that no boats are allowed.

I have never tried this in Meredith. Obviously you can't cross any swim line with your boat. Since this is not a no rafting area, you should be able to anchor as close to shore as you want.

Thanks everyone for the input. Think I will call the Town Hall to make sure it is open to swimming before I try it out.
