Red Hill Help

I am looking for the history of Red Hill in Moultonborough. Specifically the names of the abutting hills. I've tried the fish and game and lakes region conservation site as well. Any help / suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Hoopdawg - Thanks for posting, that was a very informative narrative of Red Hill.

A photo from the road at the top of New Durham Ridge, one of the best places in the Lakes Region to get great views from your car. In the far background we see South and North Kinsman Mts, about 58 miles away, just west of Franconia Notch. In front of it, at about 42 miles, is a blending of Welch and Dickey Mts, both of which provide excellent views, via trail, of the Waterville Valley area and beyond. At the extreme left is Red Hill (note the tower at the peak), about 28 miles distant. Black Mt and Sandwich Dome, part of the same mountain mass, are about 38 miles distant from the ND Ridge.

Thank you for the info. I'll have to check the books mentioned. I had a conversation with Leonard Plaisted (RIP) a good many years ago. He had named the hilltops from the fire tower over to the village kitchen. I believe there was something on the squam side of the tower as well.
