Winnisquam Water Levels
I just read that Lakeport dam will drop water level in Winnisquam on Columbus day by 2 feet. I guess this happens on even years. I don't have a familiarity with this drop and wonder if water levels will be more than sufficiant to get boat to town docks to remove after that date. My neighbor also mentioned this, I have deep water at my dock but am concerned about the channel to access town docks.
Thanks for any help. |
Winnipesaukee River
Every year the Lakeport dam is drawn to the minimum flow as not to disrupt the aqua life on the river. This is down so that municipals and riverfront owners can make neccesary repairs to their property while the water is low. I can't remember the time frame, the order will be restored to normal heights.

The water typically will start going down in Winnisquam on Columbus day weekend. If I remember correctly, it takes the course of a week or two to go down all the way. If you plan to pull it, you will still have some time before it goes way down.

(Winnisquamguy) Sorry --- I meant Channel to public boat launch in downtown Laconia which seems to be shallow during middle of season never mind dropping water 2 feet. I'm a Winnipesaukee guy that has recently purchased on Winnisquam so sorry for my incorrect description.
