Rough Three Days

1 Attachment(s)
My web cam has been showing it pretty rough out on the water for the past three days. I only saw one barge go by all weekend so everyone must now be ready for "ice in".

Here is a shot from my web cam I thought I would share with you all taken this morning...

Merry Christmas all!

Dan

I agree!!! A camera with that quality and resolution should give you some great storm shots.

This is from last Friday, rough enough to put the lean on our Christmas tree.

I'm impressed that those barges are working on weekends and every National Holiday! :eek2:

It's still going to be difficult to beat the Surf's-Up photo of 2012's Ice-Out. :look:

Wow you must be in the lee. I just got home from the back side, Sanbornton, of Winnisquam and it looked really rough along Lower Bay, maybe 3-4 footers.
Ran into 1/4 mile visibility at best on the bypass all the way to Liberty Hill and now I'm back in Belmont and it is back to light snow.
It is starting to really drift up in places.
I'd say between 6-8 inches in a lot of places now.

Looks like only about 4" of snow fell out on the island.

No ice will be forming until it calms down. Still pretty rough out there!

It would have been a nice picture if the focus wasn't on the grass.
It looks like the coast not the lake.

B.R.

Go to this thread... http://www.winnipesaukee.com/forums/...ad.php?t=14658

All my camera info is there. Scroll down to around post # 30 or so.

Just an fyi... The shots are actually much clearer than what is posted here. The forum must size them down automatically or something when I post them.

I was actually wondering about that Dan. I expected a much wider angle then what the picture showed. Makes sense now.

The angle width can be adjusted on the camera. I actually would have made the shot wider but I was having problems linking the camera to my lap top for a live shot to adjust it. I was leaving the island that day for the winter so I lucked out that the shot is actually as good as it is because I didn't even focus it! The camera basically came out of the box and up on the pole as is.

Your camera spec's state that the effective Pixels is 1920(H)×1080(V) 2 Megapixel .

My monitor resolution is 1280 x 800 pixels. Therefore I wouldn't be able to see the clarity that you camera can put out anyway.

Also this website has a max resolution of 1024 X 768, and 200.0 KB for posting .jpg pictures.

That makes sense Rusty. I just know that my images are much clearer on my lap-top than they are when I post them here.

Happy New Year!

I agree, but scroll to compare the mountain range taken from Belknap Point.

I love the focus on the grass...

...I took a picture of the end of a pine branch right after the rain ended and the sun came out. I focused on a droplet of water, and most of the pine branch was blurry, out of focus. I got the picture I wanted, and you got the picture you wanted.

Love the picture...would love to see one with the focus on the water...it really looks like a rough, rough day.

Back to Rough Three Days....

APS you missed my point. Your post referred to the lake and how rough it was with a barge going by. All I said was the focal point was on the grass and the rest was a blur. The mountains in the background were not what I was commenting on. Great picture of the grass though. My wife has taken several pictures like that some of humming birds. They are really kool.
