Wolfeboro Independence Day Parade

Usually when we go, we park along the street, near the Lakeview Cemetery, up the hill; but this year, I want to see the parade from the town center - where is the best place to park? what places are less busy? I was thinking of the lot back behind where the train station is, in the back bay - or maybe a bank parking lot?
Thanks for any suggestions!

Try behind Citizens Bank. Then you can leave town the back way.

Excellent idea, thank you. :)

Also...

...In the TDBank parking areas across from Clark Plaza, and Clark Plaza.

Just a short walk from there to Downtown.

Enjoy.

Wolfeboro parade

IF, I say, IF, the weather is good, then there really is not any close by, quiet place to park. Downtown is always mobbed, and, to tell the truth, people start staking out their place as early as 6 AM by puttting chairs and other markers along the street sides. Of course, just as you secure what you think will be a nice spot to watch the parade someone will come along and plunk themselves and all their worldly possessions right in front of you. I have witnessed some atrocious behavior in the name of patriotism. (Just my opinion.)

Basically speaking, come early, try for viewing between the Wolfeboro Inn and the Post Office, and bring your own chair.

Good luck.

I agree, Camp Guy. The trick is to come early or plan on a long walk.

I know exactly what you are talking about, some lady actually shoved me aside with her elbow one year and told me they came early to save that spot. I told her she didn't own the street just because she parked her car there. We stayed and she didn't like it. I have gone to this parade my whole life and never had that happen before.

Uggh - crazy & rude parade spectators are the worst!!! ...and it seems like it has gotten worse over the last few years, more & more. I could go on and on and on about different scenarios I have had... but that's a story for another day - LOL

Thanks for everybody's input - we will try parking in either the TD Bank lot or the Citizen's lot... and will hope for the best that I don't get any rude parade people near me - LOL :)

Happy Independence Day!

It is too bad the town doesn't ban parking in the downtown area for the parade. I'm amazed that don't take this simple action to open up the street for pedestrians.
