I like to think I'm well-read on NH boating issues, but what is this about?

There's one hundred and eighty-eight folks who can't get a mooring permit?

And it's not "on" the Forum?
Is it state-wide?
Portsmouth-only?
PDA-only?
Rockingham County only?
After March 1st -- you can't apply for 2005?
Is it "Forever"?
Is this a badly-prepared article?

There were three Portsmouth articles prior -- this year.

I was directed to this article "cold", since I seldom read Portsmouth news. (And "navigating" Foster's/Citizen pages is confusing, anyway).

Still, it would seem that boaters who have held mooring permits for 50-60 years shouldn't lose them forever over bureaucratic deadlines.

Why doesn't the State's entire mooring permit "business" charge five-years-paid-in-advance fees, instead of this penny-ante annual nonsense?

It's like driving to the Post Office to buy a 37¢ stamp.

Well, the question was rhetorical, and applies to Winnipesaukee.

We have the option of applying once every five years, and re-applying every year for an annual sticker. Why not apply just once -- and buy a mooring sticker valid for five years?

More news: Judge extends "file-by" date.

It appears that the issue was impacted by the wrong "renew" date on the re-application forms. (Correct date is 2006).

This news actually impacts few readers here; although perhaps our seagoing member (Coastal Laker - with the lighthouse avatar) could be impacted by this snafu.
