very sad news indeed...

Thank you for posting this D...

Bill was really great to work with over the years when we were planning to re-build our island house, and subsequently when we moved forward with construction. A wry sense of humor, very practical and helpful advice, and he helped this homeowner to keep myself from getting into a pickle!

A huge loss to the Meredith community and my thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and colleagues...

And my wife and I will miss his annual visit to the island to check on progress :(

sad news

Bill also helped us out a few years back by helping to make what could have been a very painful situation a lot less difficult. A real gentleman.

Was he the code officer or something in Meredith?

Pine Island Guy 05-06-2014 09:57 AM

Correct, Bill was the building code officer for the town of Meredith. He was a real class act and was always very helpful in explaining the code and how to work with it. He gave very pragmatic advice and delivered it with a great sense of humor!

Thanks. It's too bad to lose one of the good ones, the ones who are helpful, not just there to b- well, you know. Tuftonboro has one of the good guys too, he is very helpful. Too bad they couldn't all be like these two guys!

Bill was a true professional and a pleasure to work with.He was a person who really wanted to help see a project completed successfully.
While he didn't tolerate any foolishness, you always got the feeling that he was there to guide you through a project in a positive way.
He will be missed

That's great, Sam. That's the way it should be but often is not.
