Hd antennas
So my first weekend at the lake and I wanted to set my TV stations. I have an HD antenna that works great while the boat is parked in driveway in Massachusetts, but it picked up absolutely nothing in Paugus bay. Any thoughts?

TV signals are line of sight...
If the antenna can't see the TV tower, no reception.
Down in MA, the terrain is rather flat, and the TV towers are tall. |
You are way too far away for a simple antenna. A tall mast and a high gain antenna may get you a channel or two. Here is a thread on the subject that includes links to two tools, tvtool and a FCC tool.

Good luck. Hope you have gotten to enjoy your boat. Late start for us. Landscaping the yard is taking my time this month, and then to the boat Memorial Day weekend. |

You can click on any one of the channels in the table (the ones at the top of the list are the strongest), and it will show you the terrain profile between the transmitter and your location. It's going to be tough to pick up anything on the boat. You would need to be up 30+ feet to get reception. |
