Winnipesaukee Forum - Laconia Mass Casualty Drill

An opportunity to once again volunteer for the Laconia Fire Department has come up and I would like to invite everyone to participate if they can.

The Laconia Fire Department will be performing a rescue exercise aboard the Mount Washington (at dockside) as a training exercise for their personnel. The exercise is a simulation of a Mass Casualty Drill. The simulation is - an organized ‘activist’ group rents the Mount for a gathering. The intent of the activist group is to blow up the Mount and this will result in victims suffering from smoke inhalation, burns and injuries as a result of the explosion. There will be a theatrical makeup company on board which will be making up the victims according to their injuries. Volunteers are needed to be the victims.

When: Wednesday, May 4th, 2005

Place: Aboard the Mount Washington dockside

Time: 9:00 AM (Volunteers need to be there at 7:00 AM for make up)
Comments: Latex-free

Just imagine, spending a few hours doing something that is not only going to be fun (getting made up as a victim) but for an excellent cause.

What you need to do to participate:
1. Let me know if you can participate, before April 19th (we need approximately 12 more adult volunteers)
2. Complete the attached Release Form and get it to me on or before April 22nd.
