Nice... And not to hijack the thread but for those living in Suissevale I'm hearing water supposed to "go through the roof" also. No more being covered in your dues. So water and taxes...Nice...Double whammy...
|
Last year's tax rate was 8.69 per thousand so if it goes to 9.00 per thousand that would be a 3.6 percent increase.
Not sure if there was much movement between this year's preliminary assessments and last years values. |
values
Checking folks on my street, some appraisals stayed the same, some (including mine) went down a bit. There are some problems with how the town spends its money, but overall, it does a pretty good job (IMHO).

somehow I had over a 30% increase in value this year in Laconia, have to wait until November to request abatement until the sent a new rate, wish the value did jump up that high
how many people, just don't pay attention.... |

My assessment was pretty consistent with last year as well. Also, I was part of the group that got the full inspection (inside and out).
|
If your tax rate is 9$ per thousand, are you at 100% evaluation or something else......I pay 25$ per thous.at 100% eval in southern nh........Sounds like i need to move to mboro
|
I am pretty sure all of NH is supposed to be at 100% valuation. Moultonboro's taxes are low. When is the move, Scott?
|
My valuation dropped .4%. If rates increase by 3.6%, that is hardly a disaster.
Of course, given current economic conditions would I prefer them to freeze spending? Sure! But that would be like expecting to win the lottery. Goobermint is NOT that sensible. |
My value went from 179,000 to 230,400.. That's $52,600 more than last year. My house assessment didn't change but, the land went from $37,500 to $90,100. Its .25ac lot. I don't get it.. I've done nothing to improve my property and everyone else a 0.25ac lot is assessed at around 90k. Are they really tax it on that full amount?
|
A quarter acre lot assessed at $90,100? Where are you at? Assume this is non waterfront right?

Then you should take those figures to the town and show them. If they are wrong they should change it for you. They DO make mistakes. Be specific though. Show them the lots you are telling us about and what they are assessed as. Compare apples to apples.
