Piccolo Market
They are in the Strip-Mall with Dunkin and the NEW Laundry. Used to be The MUG and ARCHIE's. Has any one stopped there? I saw a sign for Pizza and cold Cuts? Not really sure what their complete line is? |

We have ordered 4 times and everything has been delicious. The pizza was thin crust, very big and toppings of meatball and pepperoni were plenty. we have also had the eggplant, salumi, chicken caprese and sausage sandwich s all were good. Homemade mozzarella, cold cuts as well as the bread were delish. our Saturday go to for lunch. I have no affiliation with this business, just appreciate good itlalian foods.

Sandwiches are great
My husband got a special sandiwch at Piccolo's on 1/17 and also brought home some Marinara sauce. Yummy. We'll be going back.

I'm all for shorter business hours--I can't stand stores that open on holidays, etc.--but for a pizza place/deli to be closed at three on Saturdays and closed Sundays is crazy. Maybe that's just until they get more help?

I agree! If they want to stay in business, They need to extend their hours on the weekend. Anyone that is from this area knows that the tourist and vacationers are here on the weekend. They need to stay open to at least
7:PM on Saturday and open on Sunday at least to 3:00 PM. You can't expect to keep a restaurant or any other retail business open in Moultonborough, working "banker's hours". |

...so for those on FB, like the page and send them a message and ask about their hours, and if the hours will be expanding soon. Search Piccolo Market LLC.
No FB: give them a call. I'm sure they have a rational for their hours. I have no dog in this fight as I am on the other side of the lake with plenty of pizza offerings. Seems like their pizza and other food is quite good. Rather than speculate, go to the source and find out. ;):) |

How was the pizza? I mean, in reality if the good is as good as it sounds I think they'll be fine. We have one restaurant and another coffee shop that have odd hours in town and the food's so good we just make a point of going the right times.

Personally, if I can get a good pizza in the Lakes region, I will go every week, even if they do close early. Hours are not as important as taste/quality. I have been unable to find any NY style thin crust, any where here. I used to drive an hour to Lincoln to go to Elvio's as they are the only pizza that fit the bill. Sadly, Elvio's was sold and is no more.
Hopefully this is as good as it sounds.:D (All that being said, I live here year round. I certainly understand that those of you who vacation here would want places open at night, for when you get up here and want a few pies):) |

Kudos to the owner. Though I am not there in the winter, I think it's advantageous to hear complaints about open hours than it is for sub par pizza that might be made by some part time employee who has no skin in the game. Sounds like he makes a good pie, let's all hope he's able to hang on until the season starts and he's able to find some really good help. |
it's his business and I am sure he will balance the added cost to his personal life vs the added revenue to staying open on weekends in the summer . I am sure he will make the choice that's best for him

I wish them the best of luck & I will definately give them a chance. If it's worth my while, I'll be sure to return during his set hours.

Good stuff!
We visited the store yesterday. Picked up some nice, very crusty, bread, freshly baked (like an hour before) and some "rollatine" (sp?), which are
roll-ups made of cutlet-style eggplant, rolled and stuffed with ricotta and spices. 20 minutes in the oven at home and we had a wonderful dinner. Honestly, just as good as my mother used to make. The real McCoy! |

I just grabbed a slice (huge) and it was superb pizza. I am a very tough pizza grader.
Everything looked great!! I grabbed a loaf of store made bread to go that I could not pass up |

I would have one and the next time I would have the other, Veal Parm with Ravioli and the other was Ravioli and Veal Parm. I have been twice now and have tried 2 different sandwiches, my husband has tried two different ones as well and I have gotten a pizza for the kids. So we have tried a lot since the menu is small. We have mixed reviews. The pizza is very good, different, but good. You can see the fresh herbs under the cheese…not the dried stuff. The first time I picked up the box it was so light I had to wonder if the pizza was as big as everyone said…well it was, the lack of weight was due to the thin crust. That is not a complaint because I didn't feel overly stuffed after eating 2 slices. So overall thumbs up on the pizza.
The subs have left a lot to be desired. I was left wanting more flavor. Maybe because my taste buds are so used to over salted processed foods that forgot what fresh food is supposed to taste like because that is one thing I can say, it is beyond fresh! Even in this slow time of year it is very fresh! Between my husband and I we have gotten the Chicken Caprese on crusty sliced Sicilian, turkey all'aglio, Sausage and peppers(homemade sausage, slow fried peppers and onions, extra virgin olive oil marinated broccoli rate) on a club roll and the Sorrento (Prosciutto, crotonese, chopped roasted pepper and olive gardiniera, olive oil and greens). They all sounded amazing but didn't live up to our expectations. Just my opinion and hopefully constructive criticism. |
Driving by, one would never know that this place exists. I hope the owner of this business knows how much you guys are doing for him. The sign says "Piccolo" in large text...if it says "Market," I can't see it driving by at 40 mph.

Picked up a pizza from Piccolo's on Friday night. on Friday night. We ordered and paid for three toppings. We opened it up at home and there were only two toppings. Unfortunately we did not like the pizza. We would not order it from there again. I do not like to be negative, but I feel all types comments are important.

I have been to Piccolo several times and have had only exceptional Boston/New York quality Italian food. I have not tried the pizza as of yet but do understand from speaking to the owner that even though he does make pizza and he makes it with some of his home made mozzarella (can't wait to try it) he does not want to be known as a pizza restaurant. He makes sandwiches and pizza but is not set up to turn out the quantities of pizza of a Pat's pizza etc.
Judge this new business on the quality of his italian food and bring something home for dinner. No need for him to be open into the night. This is a GREAT new addition to Moultonborough. WELCOME PICCOLO! |
My wife and I have been to Piccolo a few times have found the sandwiches and fresh bread they are served on exceptional, the other Italian food choices are excellent the addition of pizza is just another choice people may want but he is certainly not trying to be a pizza parlor. If you long for the taste of the North End of Boston or Arthur Ave of "Da Bronx" check out Piccolo if your in love with Pizza Hut and Dominos go elsewhere!!
