Kara's Cafe & Cakery, 48 Main St, Meredith, between Meredith town hall and the post office ..... check it out! ... check out the cake gallery! .... check out the news and events section! .... www.karascafe.com .... for some real high quality made-to-order cake, or for breakfast or lunch, or just a fantastic cup of coffee ...

Is the bakery still around? I had the best German Chocolate cake!

I second Ooo La LaLa chef Allen is an amazing cake person. She can do anything. We have had several cakes from her and we now have friends in ma that come up in summer and have to order there cakes there.

Good luck, and Happy Birthday to your wife. :)

Your post was made in March, so obviously your wife's birthday has come and went. So for future Italian Cream Cake purchases, you will want to contact Jen Clifford of "For Goodness Cakes." She was the pastry chef for Scott Ouellette and provided the desserts for all five of his restaurants. Before that she was with Donna Love. You can find her down the road at the new "Cup and Crumb."

Where is the "Cup and Crumb?"

Cakes in Wolfeboro

For delicious cakes on the east side of Winni, La Boca in Wolfeboro is the
place! Just had a tasting the other day for my daughter's wedding.

They are mentioned in the June issue of New Hampshire Magazine in an article on Wolfeboro. Wonderful bakery and wonderful people.

I always go to Heath's Supermarket in Center Harbor. They have amazing cakes, deli, and baked goods that are always fresh; even in the winter!

There is a sign in the shopping center in Wolfeboro by Harvest Market that a new bakery is coming in. I don't know if they will have cakes but one would think they would.

Is it Jen who is opening the new bakery?

The owner is Kim Prouse, former teacher at MA. When Jen heard that Kim was accepting applications for a pastry chef, well, you know the rest of the story! The Cup and Crumb isn't technically a bakery because in addition to all those luscious baked goods, this quaint little shop will feature espresso, coffee, latte's etc.!

Their pastries, breads, etc., are all fantastic. And it's a pure pleasure to do business with them because it doesn't feel like doing business.

Best wishes for your daughter's wedding, Barbara, and may the weather be with you but, if not, "Let them eat cake!"

Thanks, Woodsy, for Oo La La Creative Cakes....

....Needed to order a special cake for the wife's 50th this past week. Searched this thread and saw Woodsy's recommendation for Oo La La. Gave them a call at 5PM and an awesome custom cake was ready at noon the next day. It was beautiful and delish.

Highly recommend them!!

Little late to the party, but Stella Loona in Wolfeboro has by far the best cakes, pastries, and desserts I've ever had. She did our wedding cake and it came out perfect. It was the best cake we've ever had. I'm sure to always gets friends and relatives gift baskets for the holidays from there. I easily spend $500+ a year in tasty gifts from there.

Cake and more!

Jen Clifford can be reached via Cup and Crumb in Moultonborough. http://www.cupandcrumb.com/contact.html

She makes the most decedent cakes and her decorations are fabulous! I love her chocolate cake. We live locally (Meredith) and this is where we get special cakes.

I followed your recommendation and ordered a birthday cake from ooh la la for my wife as well as some of her cupcakes. She is bringing them to me tomorrow morning at the Meredith town docks as I told her I would be traveling by boat. If her cakes are as good as her service, we have a winner!! I'll let you know...

Here's a pic of Chef La Shunda Allen's creation from Ooh La La Creative Cakes. It was for my wife and her sister who's birthdays are just a couple days apart. Trust me when I tell you that it tasted as good as it looks!! That's a real rose on the cake by the way!

We have a winner!!
