Wanted: 4th of July Celebration Info

Yes, I would love some info on the various 4 of July celebrations around the lake. We are hoping to view the fireworks from our boat, but are open to viewing on land as well. So, in your opinion:

1. Which town has the best display?

2. What is the time and date of the fireworks in a given town?

3. Is it best to view from the land or from the water?

4. If on the water, where is a good viewing spot?

Any and all comments would be greatly appreciated.

Some earlier info here:

We have only watched Alton's from the land, usually very good. Parking fills out very early so we ride the Harley and just fit in somewhere. Normally there are a lot of boats watching from the water. Did I say a lot of boats? As the show is launched from a barge I would guess that the view from the H2O is better than from land.

You could see Alton on the 3rd and Wolfeboro on the 4th and then post a review.:D

4th of July info

Wolfeboro generally has a very good fireworks display. You can watch from the water in Wolfeboro Bay (usually quite crowded), or you watch from the Town docks (also, usually quite crowded).

There is also a parade in Wolfeboro large enough to provide something for all watchers. Oh, yes, the usual politicians show up, but they are just part of the parade. All in all, downtown Wolfeboro on July 4th is a good time.

Don't forget to get a hotdog from "Hot Dog Bob" at the Town docks, or, if you are into any other kind of food, you can probably find it locally.

There is a particular fella in town that has some of the best fireworks. He lives on the lake. Last year he spent $25,000 on a firework display. Best part? Wife and I can see them perfectly from our front porch. :D

Worst part? Try to get any sleep that night -- or any other night he sets them off.

Are you refering to this guy?
July 5th, at Dark, The Best Fireworks Display On The Lake...... wants all you boaters to float around Wolfeboro Bay and Enjoy The Show !

This Show is from a private residence on the Sewall Rd side of the bay, about half way between downtown and G&H Boatyard. It has been said that good non-boating viewing spots are the town docks or the town beach located across the bay.

Here is last years thread from member sculpin.

I have always favored the Wolfeboro display and if you have never been by boat you really must try it!

It must've been better viewed by boat - it just wasn't that good from my vantage point at Brewster Academy IMHO. Also, thought I read there was a new vendor doing Wolfeboro's display this year. Maybe 2014 was just an off year?

Anyway, we love fireworks and like to take in as many displays as possible. Since we don't have a boat we're watching from the beach
