Vessel Safety Checks for 2005
Here's the schedule for 2005 VSC's. If you can, PLEASE stop by one of the following locations for your FREE VSC. It is in your, and your passengers, best interest to make sure your vessel meets the federal and state requirements. The examiners have a tremendous amount of knowledge they can pass on to the boating community about Safe Boating and Smart Boating. Spend 15 minutes with one of them during a VSC and I can assure you, you will be glad you did ! Thank you and we look forward to seeing you at one of these locations.
Happy and SAFE Boating ! Saturday, 4 June
All Vessel Safety check times are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. |
do they do jet-skis?
Thanks for your help |
Yes?
Matty, I am 99% sure they do PWCs, because my Sea Doo has a VSC sticker on it from a couple years ago. I guess the previous owner had it checked. I would assume they still do them.

Thank you Chip and Outlaw. I will be sure to swing by one of those dates and make sure all is in order.

If anyone is interested in the Power Squadron or would like to become a member, I would be happy to talk with you about it (send me private email). In the meantime, you can learn more about the United States Power Squadron at http://www.usps.org/ and the Lakes Region Sail & Power Squadron at http://www.lrsps.org/. |

Remember all, vessel safety checks are voluntary, strictly confidential, free and the process is one of “prevention through education, outreach and volunteer compliance” helping recreational boaters to gain a respect for the boating environment. We look forward to seeing you and others at one of our schedule VSC days. |
Facility inspection
Are there any USCG Auxiliary inspectors out there from the 1st District?
I need an operational facility inspection. Misty Blue. |

Outlaw,
I noticed last night that the sign at Fays says that the VSC is June 18. The post above says the 25th. Can you clarify this for me? Thanks, pmj |

Vsc
I had my boat out on my driveway in Hooksett Thursday night. I was getting ready to take off to the big lake, and a gentleman was walking up the driveway. He ask if I wanted to have a VSC. I said sure and he did it right there! Talk about timing and dedication.
It seems as he was a member of the auxilary and when driving by, couldn't help notice a boat without a sticker. Kudos to the USCGA! :D |

Thanks again. |
Just a reminder that any Marine Patrol Officer or Marine Patrol Auxiliary would be happy to give a courtesy inspection.

VSE at Minge Cove on June 18th
Hey Outlaw: Inadvertently, this was not on the schedule, but there will be two safety examiners (guess who) at Minge Cove Marina on June 18th from 10am to 2pm.
Hope to see a bunch of good folks there, and also hope it's not going to be 95 degrees again! |

Unfortunately, we have no members in the LRSPS who are also USCG Aux. in order to perform the inspection you require. I would suggest for this inspection that you contact the USCG, in particular the 1st District as you mentioned to see where you can get this inspection done. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. |
Locations for Vessel Safety Checks this weekend
Saturday, 25 June 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Silver Sands Marina, Gilford Fay's Boat Yard, Gilford South Down Boat Club, Laconia |
I Had Mine!
I had my Vessel Safety Check today at Fay's Boat Yard. I even had it done by Forum Member donnamatrix! I got to meet her husband as well. Very nice people. And yes I passed with having all required items. I did have some expired flares which I will properly dispose of.
Donna even told me I can most likely save on my insurance because I passed the inspection. Everyone should have the inspection. It is not difficult to comply with and it is for everyone's benifit. Common sense items are what is required. |
VSC's this weekend
Just wanted to bring this thread up to the top again as this weekend is the last scheduled weekend for Vessel Safety Checks performed by the Lake Regions Sail & Power Squadron.
However, if you are not able to make it this weekend and would like a VSC, contact me and I will get you the information you need to schedule one. Happy and Safe Boating to all. |
