Most convenient fender hanger for 'greenhorn' first mate

Hello Folks,

Did a quick search in the forum and could not find any info on this (I try to search for info/answers before starting new threads).

I'm looking for a quick and easy way to hang fenders on the bow rail that doesn't involve tying knots. There is an array of options out there from straps to clip-on rail type hangers, all with mixed reviews (i.e. some slip or pop off the rail, break etc..). I'd like the process of securing fenders, as we're approaching the dock, to be quick and simple and am wondering what you recommend. Fender size is 8"X24" using 3/8" rope.....boat is a 28' cruiser.

Thanks!

Thanks, they are certainly priced right! I feel silly asking the question in the first place but my first mate and I are on a steep learning curve and trying to get as much right on the first try as we can. :)

Don't feel silly, ask away! That's what this forum is for! There are a lot of helpful friendly people here. Just stay away from the restaurant review section!😄😄

Good luck!

I use some of these, easy to use and adjust:

Most boat shops have them, or Parafunalia in Gilford.

Thanks Woodsy!

I'm just seeing this now (sorry, been a bit heads-down as of late), but I'm "the local guy" that Woodsy was referring to. They are super easy to use, both experienced boaters and "greenhorns" alike love them! I'd be happy to answer any questions any one has about the product, they are built right here in New England and all the testing and development was done on the big lake! You can reach me at mark@fendersuspenders.com. (side note) Shep Brown's has had them on all their gas dock posts for the last two summers and they performed perfectly!

For any of you thinking about these - and already wishing for ice-out - I'll give a forum member discount of 15% on any order - just use code "WINNIFORUM" at check out.

Folks,

I ended up purchasing the Fender Extender product from Nautical Design Labs: http://www.nauticaldesignlabs.com/

Very easy to use and first-mate approved. I look forward to using them this upcoming boating season. The owner Mark provides outstanding customer service.

Thanks again to Woody for referencing this product.

Thank you.

Thanks R/C for the kind words (and the business) ;o). Glad we got you all hooked up, now all we need is an ice-free lake!

Best Bumper Ever!

They don't take up any room. Easy and fast to inflate. Uses a strap instead of tying knots! Perfect for rafting or docking if you need! :)
You can also purchase them online at West Marine (limited colors).
