Pops Open??

"Googled" Pops yesterday and the computer has them currently open daily. Are they truly open now, I thought they opened much later than this? Was just curious if I wasn't looking at current information.

I read somewhere they are open on the weekends.

On social media, on the 22nd he wrote only 7 days to opening.

Looks like the 29th, and I would guess only on weekends until the kids are back from HS / College.

Sign on the front, but darned if I can remember if it is the 29th or 30th.

Can someone help with info on visiting Pops--where it is, where to dock, good times to go, etc. Could sure use some good seafood by boat!

Take your boat to Alton Bay, and dock at the town docks. When you leave the docks, turn right and walk past Shibley's at the Pier restaurant. Keep heading toward the old railroad station that is now a community center, and you will see Pops across the street. Cross walk right there.

Pop's does not take credit cards, cash only, but have taken a check written on a local bank (NH I guess.).

Anytime they are open is a good time to go. Seriously. It can be busy at any given time during the day, or you may only be second or third in line. They have a wonderful system for moving the food through, and wait times are not that long. Enjoy.

Walk is really long, like 2 minutes!!!!!

Right at Alton bay up the street (going toward the Wiers)
You can dock right at the public docks and it's only a short walk from there.
If you're familiar at all with Alton Bay are it is right across from the public ramp.

They also have both indoor and outdoor seating and an ATM. You can also walk across the street to the picnic tables on the bay - can't go wrong.

Or Saturday night, sit on your boat and listen to the concerts from 7-9 PM, with a meal from Pop's.

Bit of a drive from Hanson Cove, but we're gonna try to get there!

Pick a nice day and go for it. Also a mini - golf place close to the docks, in the other direction from Pops. Also a few places to get ice cream, and a swim area near the docks, and a beach about a 5 min walk to across the bay. Hey, that's a whole day in Alton Bay (I'm a poet and didn't know it :) )

made the trip a couple years ago based on the posts from this forum, ya, it was good but certainly not any better than most in the area, much prefer the Clam Box in Ipswich and Woodmans in Essex. Maybe it was the day or the crappy service (kids just sitting on the counters when we got there) certainly not worth going out of the way to get there!! JMO
