Not much doing

A quick look at the events calendar shows a whole lot of nothing going on this month.....

They'll be every Friday night starting after the July 3rd show.

The Weirs Action Committee's Facebook page has the schedule. It's also a good place to check for changes due to weather.

How is the crowd at Weirs on Friday nights at that time? Just asking if it's appropriate for small kids or not....

Thanks.

Late night entertainment...

It is late night entertainment where, on land, there are folks who have been imbibing on the happy juice. Similarly, like most fireworks displays being seen from the water, there are some very happy people out there too.

Liken it to going to Fenway or Foxboro for a game: If you are comfortable taking your kids to the games with the drinking that goes on there, then by all means bring your kids to the fireworks on Friday nights. Just let the little ones have a nap, have a good snack or two for them, get a good seat or water location, and enjoy.

Who remembers when the fireworks used to be on Sunday nights? There was always some sort of band or entertainment on the top of the building which now houses the Mount's gift shop. There was an announcer that would ask the men on the beach if they were ready. "Dominique, are you ready?" Dominique would wave his flare and then the countdown by everyone there would begin. Also, remember the parachute firework? All the boats would try to get the parachute for a prize. Many many fun memories of days gone bye.

I've been there many times on Friday nights for the fireworks and never experienced any negative behavior. Just my observation.

Fireworks

Walter,

The fireworks on Paugus Bay have been going on for a couple of weekends now. You're welcome to park in front of our place.

Hope that helps,
Bill

Phantom,

No I'm referring to the fireworks that happen on the East and West side of Paugus Bay. They build from Memorial Day thru the Fourth. By the 4th of July they are as good as any place on the lake.

10 O'clock last Saturday there was quite a display. No crowds, easy access, what more could you ask for.

That is from the Margate. when they have a wedding there, sometimes used to be more frequent) the wedding would pay to have fireworks close out the evening. They are not always guaranteed with the wedding though.

I am going to have to respectfully disagree. Just this last weekend Richaven Cottages put off quite the fireworks display. As well there were a number of fireworks from the west side of Paugus. I did not see any from the Margate this last weekend.

You'll just have to check it out for yourselves.

Thank You,
Bill

Understandable, my place is right beside the Margate and the fireworks go off right beside our beach, if this is indeed the area that was in question. There are weddings there pretty much every weekend and this past Saturday there was a wedding with fireworks that went up just before 10pm.

On the Sunday night before Memorial Day my webcam at Anchor Marine caught this shot looking west across Paugus Bay:
