Vinyl seat cleaning and care

What is everyone using for Vinyl seat cleaner (Mine have some yellowing and grime ground in) and protection (UV)? I know I wont get all the yellowing out, but with the right product, I am confident it will improve.

Zep vinyl cleaner and then 303 aerospace protectant.

Do not use Magic erasers on vinyl... it is like using a fine grit sandpaper! It also has some chemical that eats the threads... I know this first hand! Google it...

Magic Eraser

Magic Eraser is really the only option for stains. Clean with another product first but whatever you cannot get clean use the eraser. Be careful and make sure you wash off any the fabric after use and then treat it with the 303.

Magic Eraser is the reason I had to replace the sunpad on my Donzi.... use at your own risk!

I friend of mine who owns a cleaning company told me about his solution made up of bleach and baking soda. Mix it into a paste and rub it on with a scrunge and rinse well with water. It works amazingly well.

I use this system:
* Light Cleaning: Simple Green
* Medium Cleaning:
** Spray Nine (great for mold)
** Soft Scrub w/Bleach
** Star brite Non-Skid Deck Cleaner with PTEF (nothing makes vinyl white like this)
* Followup w/303 to protect the vinyl

Thank you. Agree.
Use 303 all of the time. In car and boat.

This is probably too late for your situation. With my new boat I purchased some Kimberly Clark NOAH car cover material. Went to upholsterer and had custom cover made for all vinyl seat cushions. Easy on and easy off. Velcro or zippers. Kimberly Clark the diaper people make the best car covers. Stop rain from going in and breath for moisture going out. I purchase a lightly used car cover off eb*y for cheap money. But did get NOAH car cover. Took this material to upholsterer. When I eventually sold the boat the white cushions looked brand new.

Years ago I had a "Dodger" on my sailboat with clear vinyl windscreen and side curtains. I always used automotive wax (Turtlewax..?) on the clear vinyl. The dodger was 6 years old and had always been exposed to the sun. I never covered it. The windows were starting to get Oh So slightly cloudy. A friend had some stuff designed Specifically for cleaning vinyl windows. He said Try This. SO I did. :)

Within three weeks the Oh So slightly cloudy windows had turned BROWN and you could no longer see through them. At some point during this time period, I bumped into one of the windows and it actually "Shattered". :eek:

I am Convinced that mixing the chemicals from prior applications the wax..and the chemicals in the spray bottle of vinyl cleaner had a really adverse reaction on the vinyl. :look:

LESSON: Beware of mixing Stuff.

I think Armor-All has the same effect on car dashboards when mixed with Sun.
