What is this on Wolfeboro Neck?

I was playing around on google maps and saw a strange roadway layout on Wolfeboro Neck? Is it a road set up for future development or possibly a fly in community that never came to fruition? The link below shows you what I am referring to.

it is where wolfeboro airport used to be

While a "Fly-In Community" can't be ruled out, the Marriotts have indicated that houses will be built as the family grows.

Long story short, it was an airport and then became a development (which failed) during which time they made the runway into a tarred road and now the Marriott's own it.
