DVR/Blue Ray player

We want to buy our own DVR/Blue Ray player instead of renting from Metrocast. Has anyone found a good product? Don't find many to choose from when I google. thanks

Sony

I have found Sony to be very reliable, I have had mine for at least 5 years, and I think it was not expensive. Check online at Best Buy, Costco, etc. Although I do not use it very much. I got Chromecast and stream movies from my tablet to the TV, which eliminated the need to go and get CD's.

Netflix wont help the OP if he/she wants to DVR anything on TV.

cut the cord

I have an older version of the Channel Master DVR that has worked good for many years. I'm betting the new one is much better. It is for recording over-the-air (OTA) programming coming off an antenna. Get rid of cable and this pays for itself in 3 months. You need to in an area that has OTA reception, of course.

.....and separate blu-ray players are cheap these days. Trying to get a combined unit might be tough.
