Depends on the boat
What type of boat do you have? As with cars, some mechanics are better with old, classic or non-standard stuff, others will do a good job on recent models and have all the tools and training but are limited to what manuals tell them to do, can't go outside the box. Fewer seem to cope well with outboards these days, especially older small ones.
Lance has done great work for years, he does it all from boats to fixing plow rigs. After several strikeouts, I had excellent luck finding Lane's End Marina in Melvin Village to troubleshoot a 40-year-old boat retrofitted with EFI that had had teething issues, very happy with them. They seem to service everything from wood classics to modern performance boats there, and won't sell you what you don't need. |
