Beautiful Jet @ Laconia Airport Today
 

I'm always curious about planes and spend lots of time at the ice runway in the winter or just watching planes take off and land near Lilly Pond. Drove by today and there was a beautiful jet at the airport! Much larger than most private planes that use the airport regularly. This plane was red and blue with a "W" on its tail. I actually stopped and asked an employee if I could take a picture of it and he said the owners don't like people taking photos of their jet, but he couldn't tell me no... :rolleye2: well, I didn't want to intrude on someone's property (and I'm glad I asked before lurking around taking photos...) so I left without taking any closeups. But, was an amazing looking machine! If anyone knows the owners or anything about this jet, let them know it's a real gem to look at parked at the Laconia airport!! :)

Saw that same plane and also thought it was bigger than the jets we see there normally. Beautiful looking. Curious about it.

Maybe it was Oprah Winfrey's Bombardier Global Express xrs and the 'W' on the tail stands for Winfrey? Was she window shopping Bob Bahre's not-so-little cottage in Alton ....... just a 20-minute drive from the airport ..... just so convenient for a weekend get-away house.

Wikipedia says that 63-year old Oprah, born into poverty in January, 1954 in rural Mississippi, was worth 2.9-billion dollars in 2014, and has homes in Hawaii, California, Chicago, Colorado, New Jersey, and others .... so, maybe establishing a residence, and voting in New Hampshire could save her a few bucks what with the NH advantage of no state income, and no state capital gains tax.:patriot:

Most important, does the 'Long View' come with a tennis court that overlooks the lake, and Oprah can get it redone in purple .... a purple tennis court? Like ...... why not purple? She likes purple! www.plexipave.com/tennis/tennis-court-colorizer is in Andover, Massachusetts.

My first thought was HHH also. I am sure you have seen his place in Meredith.

I saw the bird in question. It is the one that comes up when you search "HHH Jet".

Could be the newly extended no wake zone in meredith bay puts their little log cabin into the no wake zone ........oh well?

According to my better half it took off earlier this afternoon.

According to wikipedia, 85-year old J W 'Bill' Marriott Jr. is worth 2.2-billion dollars, and doesn't he fly in from Chicago or someplace, landing at Laconia Airport, and wings it over his cottage in Tuftonboro, enroute, when coming or going, to wave hellooooooo...... and good-byyyyyyye.

So.......... does Bill's jet have one of those highly stylized letter-"M" for Marriott on its tail, or does he fly incognito?

Getting back to Oprah.......seems like she should have a bright purple plane with a big, stylized "O" on the tail!

And, then there's poor Adam Sandler, age-50, and supposedly only worth 300-million ...... so he has to fly Jet Blue from L. A. to Boston, and then take the Trailways Bus from Boston up to Meredith when he visits his sister and mother, at the lake, here. Gotta wonder.......if Adam could afford a private jet .....what letter or logo would he be putt'n on the tail?

You know the last time that Laconia Airport had any scheduled commercial airlines was something like 1987 with Air New England...... and, they have no interest, what-so-ever, in becoming a home for a skydiving business......... zero interest......none.....No Way to skydiving!

Driving Mass. Pike this past week, saw 2 tractor-trailers inbound with WWE blazed on them. Related?

They had a big event in Boston last week. I would assume those were related to that.
