Moulton Farm... Best corn ever?
 

I do not know but this is real close. I grabbed it from the basket as it was being brought in from the field. It needs nothing on it, just cook and eat. Very sweet and one ear is like a meal…

had 4 ears on saturday. very sweet. wife complained that kernels were a little large

It's very good, but having grown up on New Jersey corn I can tell you the Jersey corn is better. Sweet and small kernels. Not a summer day goes by where I don't miss it.

I love Moulton Farms, their fruit and vegetables are the best around and the corn is fantastic. Not to mention you can pick up Cider Bellies while you are there. :liplick:

Moulton's imports corn in the beginning of the season from the south until theirs grows(they were late this year). We heard they did this and found out by asking. We tried the earlier corn and it wasn't as good. Moulton's has quite a variety and even though the prices a little high we still shop there and always get the pies(all berry pie, awesome).

They have pretty good corn but you really pay for it. Got some from Hannaford's Saturday probably not quite the standards as "the farm" but for less than half the price it was damn good also.

I had the best corn I have ever eaten this past weekend. My husband works for a very large company that grows and sells vegetable seeds to commercial growers. This corn was grown in a seed trial in upstate NY. It is not available on the market yet. It was incredible!!!

Based on the above comments,we stopped at Moulton Farms this am and got just picked large ears of corn. For 69 cents an ear it should have been good...and it was the best we'd ever had.

gladly pay a premium for fresh, real, veggies....
 

Love the Moulton-grown veggies, and will gladly pay a premium for them. (and for what it's worth, I don't think it is expensive...farming is a tough business and I am happy to support them). We go there just about every day to get their corn, red lettuce, cukes, summer squash, carrots, etc. WAAAYYY better than the stuff in the supermarket. In fact, we tried some of the "fresh picked" corn at the new Whole (Paycheck) Foods, (now Amazon Foods :eek:), that just opened near our primary home and it was awful.....bordered on cow corn.

I grew up on crappy canned vegetables, so it is so worth it, (to me, anyway), go down the street and get the real thing.

At almost 4 times the cost, I think you understand the hyperbole.

This is not to say it's not awesome quality, but it's the same conversation about Wineing Butcher, New Woodshed, etc.--quality vs. cost.

Walmart and the like have seduced all of us into thinking we're paying too much whenever we don't opt for the cheapest thing. Like Think, I scratch my head when asked to pay 3.5X a Hannaford's price. But when I consider the tremendous EFFORT and absolute deliciousness of local farm produce captured for only $0.69 an ear--HALLELUJAH!!! IT'S A MIRACLE!!!

.69/ear is fine for the first 100 ears or so. After that, it's pricey. ;)

Usually this time of year the big chains sell local corn and post the grower. I just had some from Litchfield and it was great.

We got Moulton Farm corn on Saturday. It was fantastic.

The best corn I've ever had was from McQuestion Farm in Litchfield.
