Reputable driveway sealing?
First of all, is it worthwhile doing or not?
What are your experiences? |
I prefer the casual look, so I say not worth doing. Once you try to make something perfect, the inevitable blemishes will drive you crazy.

It does extend the life of the driveway but once you do it you have to keep resealing about every other year to maintain and keep it from looking like crap.

Agreed, once you do it you have to keep doing it every few years. If you have cracks in the pavement they will seal them first then coat over it. If you don't have any cracks then it's just for looks and really not needed.

Why not just have a top coat done? There's a difference between the two.

Top coat is much more expensive then sealing and could be an issue with a top coat for thresholds into doorways, garage entries, pitching for water ect. Sent from my iPhone using Winnipesaukee Forum mobile app |

A top coat would be nice but I think they would have to cut some asphault out to re-do all those edges, thus adding labor costs to an already more costly project. |
Near the house in Massachusetts I noticed a drive that appears to have a top coat but I think it is more likely a slurry that was put on. Looks really great and does not look like a sealer. I am going to try to find out what this is as our drive could use upgrading.
