A Very Nice Day
I just got a new camera and was itching to try it out. Yesterday was a nice day and I took advantage of some nice golden hour lighting, right before sunset. I shot it from Thurston's Marina, looking across the channel towards the Naswa Resort.

Great shot! Have admired all of your posts.
Without highjacking the shot, what did you purchase? I am still trying to break away from my Canon F-1 and go digital. I know......Rip Van Winkle. |

Google Ken Rockwell Sony RX10 M4 review and check it out. Sony tech is amazing. |
I agree.
Great Photo. After decades of being a Nikon girl, I also have a Sony digital camera. Great piece of equipment. Looking forward to seeing more of your posts.

Curious...
As to the filters you use.
I, too, have enjoyed your photos. You obviously have a diversity of lenses...If I remember a 500mm? For some of those nature photos. With a new camera...New lenses? |
It seems like so long ago since we've seen a nice bright sunny day. :( I have to keep looking at that picture to remember what it looks like.

His in-laws have a condo that overlooks a marshy river. When I was there a couple years ago I saw people paddle boarding and there were signs every where, "beware of gators".
What's with the flying fish also? They were almost knocking people off the paddle boards. No thanks, I wouldn't even take out the complimentary kayaks.:laugh::laugh: |

Sorry, I misspoke. Image was shot from the gas dock of Winni Marine (formerly Channel Marine). |

The Sony RX10 M4 is what is called a "bridge" camera; which means it has the body of a DSLR, but the lens does not come off the camera. The lens which is permanently attached to the body is a lens made by Carl Zeiss. Zeiss makes excellent lenses and this particular lens is a 24 to 600mm lens which is f/2.4 at 24mm and only f/4.0 out at 600mm. It is a fantastic lens. Also, the camera uses a 315 point phase detection auto focus system as opposed to contrast detection. This camera is perfect for my needs and as someone who loves to shoot birds in flight, it shoots an incredible 24 frames per second. :) |
