My First Moon Shot
While I know that the full moon is actually Saturday the 18th; I looked out my window tonight and saw that there were no clouds near it and with the horrible weather we've been having I decided to take a shot.
Hopefully the sky will be clear on Saturday night. Taken in Manual mode, 1/125 sec. f/11 ISO 100 https://i.imgur.com/4hyjeFi.jpg |
…. looks just like an 88-cent orange from Walmart

Nice shot. It's actually better to photograph the moon at any point other than full since there is no crater detail (shadows) at full. The best shot would be near sliver of a moon where the rest of the moon is lit by earth glow.

It's a great camera and an amazing lens. Sony tech is awesome. |
I've got to admit when I first saw the title my mind went right to an early Bike week visual. :emb:

Beautiful! One of my favorite moon trivia facts is it's reflectiveness is about the same as an asphalt parking lot. So think about how non-reflective one of those is compared to the water and clouds, and how crazy bright a full Earth must be from up there!

Salute
Great detail. One can even see the flag planted by Apollo 11 fifty years ago. 🇺🇸

Take another shot...
From the other side! Probably require time-exposure.
Nice photos, as always... |
Hi Paul,
I bought a Sony MVC-CD400 with the single Zeiss Verio-Sonnar 6X Precision Digital Zoom back in 2002 to use for my PhotoPost pictures, and several friends since wanted me to take all of their wedding photos, and to this day still use and haven't found any reason to stop using it. For the money alone, you've got a 'Boss' and a Keeper! Awesome Photos!! |
