New Thread?

I started a new thread yesterday, concerning a picture potentially appearing in Lakes Region schools, that some may find politically biased.

Schools all across the country, large and small, are sure to be discussing the current impeachment trial.

Why would my thread have been deleted by the power that is?

Wouldn't you be interested in whether/how your student(s) may be influenced by the ideologies of others?

Probably because it has no need to be on here. There are plenty of forums out there to debate political stances. This isn't it.

I hear what you're saying, but the post was about school policies, not political stances
The picture I posted showed three impeached presidents and one that wasn't. For whatever anyone ever thought about the one who wasn't impeached, I was merely suggesting that a picture like this might be a breach of school policy.
The number of thanks to your reply sets me straight. My bad, I guess!
Back to the hopes of having pond hockey happening!

How are you seeing the number of thanks? I'm using the Android app and can thank but can't see how many thanks a post gets...

All of the thanks appear below the post being thanked. I use a laptop and they are visible there.

This forum has wisely avoided politics and that's why I love it.
Informative and friendly exchanges for the most part

In the app tap the menu ... in upper right, select web view and open with a browser

Though that negates the value of the app, I appreciate the tip.

In this situation, the user determines "the value of the app".

The Host of the Web Site determines "Features and Functionality". We all may disagree with some of the choices.

Perhaps, but....

I view this site on my tablet via a web browser. If I visit this site on my phone, I use the Winni app. I was using the Winni app on my tablet as well.

The reason I went to the full site on my tablet is that I felt I was missing some things. For instance, if someone asks for recommendations to have widgit installed in their whatsit, someone will say in the title of their post "ABC widget" and then in the body of the message continues " is my go to guy for widgets".

If I am reading the thread via the Winni app, you can't see the title of the post, all you can see is what is in the body. By following Slickcraft's suggestion, you will know who was recommended. So, it doesn't negate the value of the app, it can actually enhance it on occasions.

Yes--not seeing the title can make interpreting the comment difficult. I'll keep that in mind.

The Forum mobile app is provided and maintained by Tapatalk and I have very little control of the features and software that makes it work. I pay a small monthly fee to Tapatalk and they access the forum database and format the posts within their templates, brand the app with my logo and post it to the app stores.

Since the app isn't running my site's software none of this forum's plugins, like the Thanks feature, will work properly or at all in the mobile app. The CMS (Content Management System) that allows the integration of other site pages, features, menus, information panels, etc. isn't there either. To see the entire site and all features and plugins you have to view the site in a browser at this point.

The Tapatalk forum app is just a simple forum viewer and mostly does a pretty good job. It's certainly not perfect. If you do have suggestions to improve their service or want to report problems the best thing would be to post on Tapatalk's forum.

I understand your logic, but political discussions--such as the indoctrination of young minds--tends to drive members away from all discussions. :(

It can also be said that lake issues are also altered by those leaving outside states to retire into New Hampshire's lakes region. For that reason, most controversial topics are moved to the Lake Issues forum, which is hidden from casual observation.

A recent picture featuring six opposing Presidential candidates had me tempted also, as among the five candidates the picture also included General Qassem Soleimani! :eek2:
