Realtor Recommendation
Hello, we are looking to relocate to the Plymouth- Holderness ish area from NJ to be closer to elderly parents in Moultonborough, we want to be close, but not too close (if you know what I mean) and we enjoy skiing and outdoor activities so were thinking that area might make sense for us. Looking for realtor recommendations who may be able to help us in our decision making, thanks!

Kathleen Corcoran is fantastic. Helped us buy our house three years ago (Center Harbor). Helped our friends buy and sell a condo within the past 10 year timeframe (Campton). She is super approachable, down to earth and will answer every question. We even had a problem after the sale was complete and she hung in there with us to get it resolved. Give her a call. You’ll be glad you did!

My wife and I have bought and sold a lot of homes around the Meredith area but 2 years old we moved to Holderness. For what its worth, Holderness is a very unique market and it can be incredibly hard to find a home in this town. If you've really got to live in Holderness I suggest a Holderness realtor like Jackie Elliott or Jerrold Mitchell at Peabody Smith. If you are ok with Plymouth (and we love Plymouth) then its going to be much easier to find a house in that town.

I agree that you should find a local realtor in the Plymouth/Holderness area.
We lived in Holderness for several years when my husband was working at Plymouth State College. We moved in 1990 so I don’t have a recommendation for a realtor, but definitely someone local who understands the market there. |
Realtor recommendation
I agree strongly with those who suggest using a local realtor. A local realtor generally has a better feel for the community, and (and this is very important), if you need services outside those of a realtor a local realtor is more apt to know trades specializing in what you need. Also, if you need to go before any Boards in Town a local realtor is your best bet to represent you or a lawyer of their suggestion. Small(er) Towns have their own idiosyncrasies and local representation usually works best.
Best of luck to you. |

Lake Life
Not to pile on, but Lake Life Realty is just top notch. Brie, Stephanie and Brendan (specifically we worked with Brendan) are tireless and just the best people. Brendan helped us find and buy our dream condo in Wolfeboro just this past year so I can't possibly recommend him enough.

We like Plymouth/Ashland/Holderness (our son lives in Plymouth). But is there a reason you are limiting your search to that area? I mean a large portion of the state lends itself to outdoor recreation.
(PS We just moved from NY to The Weirs.). Best of luck on finding your new home. |
We like that area because of the easy proximity to 93 if we need to get back down South, it’s closer vs our initial search which was in the Jackson/Conway area. Family has a home on the lake so would prefer ours to be closer to the mountains. Thanks.

Whereas Plymouth is actually quieter with the college kids out for summer break. |
After a decade or more of living in Meredith we really love living up near Plymouth now. You are right that Plymouth is quieter in the summer which is a nice break from the crowds of the lakes region (we continue to work in Meredith). Plymouth is also great because the college means there is lots of young energy in town and lots and lots of things to do in the winter. It really feels like the best of both worlds. And we live close enough to 93 that its now faster for us to get to Boston than it was when we lived in Meredith.

We are now only about a mile apart as the crow flies and the attached photos were taken less than a half a mile from your new home. Recognize this beautiful spot yet? if you do, sshhhh..... keep it a secret
Also, if you like these sort of local views be sure to check out the work of one of our very talented New Hampton neighbors; https://www.shellette.net/ |
Beautiful. Love this website with so much information shared. someday soon i hope to retire around the southern part of Winni but not sure i could afford to buy anything the way the market is right now. Maybe just have to rent for july and august.
