Case & Keg- Meredith Adventure!
So...
-I'm waiting in line to pay and this tall guy, maybe 6'2", comes in and says to me, you can't ski in those (granted, I'm wearing pj bottoms). -I'm caught off guard with little or nothing to say- so I look him up and down, and he's wearing snow boots- It's 65 degrees out- no snow around here! -So, I ask him why is it he's wearing snow boots when there is, in fact, no snow on the ground. -Suddenly, he turns to the store clerk (who happens, also, to be the owner) and asks, "What is the freshest beer you have?" -Believe me, only one-two minutes have gone by and I've got this crazy feeling! -The owner declares that ALL of the beer is fresh- but the man persists! -Don't ask me why (and I swear this is true), I turned to the man and said,"You're FLL, aren't you?" -A very brief silence controlled the moment. -(Not kidding) The man turned to me and suggested that maybe he should call in the FBI! -I said, "I knew it, you ARE FLL! -Suddenly, I'd bitten off more than I could chew, so as I left I threw out a bone- "Good luck putting your dock in this spring"- and he asked would I like to help- to which I assured him, I knew he doesn't need any help. Just sayin' |
Reply?
Reply? I'm speechless.

I would have been tempted to say the 30 packs of the freshest ever PBR are in the corner, $2.00 off the ones that aren't refrigerated. Hut Hut Hut!

Sorry Jeeponly ...... have never purchased even one single item of anything from the Case 'n Keg which sells cigarettes and beer.
If you want to find me ...... try going to the Hearts and Hands Thrift store ..... a few doors up the street, there, on Stevens Ave ..... open Thursday to Saturday 10-3 ...... and running a 50% off sale this week ..... off their already low prices ...... on glassware and framed pictures. So, what did you purchase at the Case 'n Keg? |

But, look at the fun you will have helping some unknown stranger put his dock in in the spring! When that one is done please swing by my house. The dock needs work! |

It really was the (odd?)comment about "fresh beer" that got me. |

Actually, I'm in the middle of L.H. Anderson's "Seeds of America" trilogy. |

Freshness is a key component to IPAs, especially Hazy New England style IPAs, the hop profile drops off considerably after about 3 months. Any IPA with a canned date older than 3 months and you are not getting the beer the way the brewer intended for it to taste. I always check the date and will very rarely buy anything older than 3 months for an IPA, other styles are ok older than 3 months. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Meredith Vacation
After reading this all I can picture in my mind is Randy Quaid standing out in front of Case n Keg on Mill St. pumping the sewer out of his RV into a storm drain drinking a beer.
