RV Engine Miles?
I'm looking at an RV which I may purchase, and would like some feedback about engine.
RV is a Class C, engine has 116,000 miles on it and is a Ford E-350 Super Duty with Triton V10. RV is only a 22'. Is this a lot of mile for the engine ? |
Excellent outside PAINT, rule of tumb ...... eh ..... make that thumb! Good to excellent outside vehicle PAINT usually indicates how easy or hard it got used and is a general indication on how it got treated by previous owner/driver.
Like ..... are the 116k-miles mostly easy highway miles, or is it a lot of stop & go, stall & crawl, stop light city miles? The Carfax will tell you where it was owned, and the location will help to indicate type of use. Cars are just like boats ....... is not the age/mileage ...... is the condition! |
Triton V-10
Excellent motor! Except for when they came out the first two years. Most of the problems are in the transmission.
I have an '88 Itasca with only 80K on the clock. Bulletproof 454 and hydramatic transmission. Everything else went. No problems with motor and drive train. Just replaced the aluminum roof with the new fiberglass material. Aluminum started to pit. Otherwise a great 'classic'! |
I found online, a 2001 Forest River Isata Class B RV. This is a 28' RV.
Engine has 62k miles 10 cylinder Triton motor. I'm not familiar with 10 cylinders, or Triton engines ? Does anyone have knowledge they could share. Thanks ! |
