Central A/C issue ?
My central A/C is giving me issues. Figures, the hottest part of summer we've had and it goes on the fritz !
A/C kicks on OK and blades are turning in the outside unit. In side the house, there is no air coming from the registers, nor does the house cool down. Coincidently, I just had a new furnace installed in the Spring. The A/C Evaporator unit is mounted above the furnace, and tied into the whole house duct work. Furnace installers had to remove the A/C Evaporator unit to install the new furnace, then re-install Evaporator. FYI, the A/C was working b before the furnace was installed ! FYI, A/C unit is a Trane, Furnace is a York. Thoughts of what's going on here ? Will be calling HVAC company to review. |
If you take the fan off of Auto and switch it to "On" does the fan start?
|
Right, like TiltonBB is suggesting your problem is with the air handler. When switched to on is it running? Check your breakers, the air handler/furnace are likely on a different breaker than the outside unit fan and compressor.

Breaker. I had no water from well pump. Multiple times. Miller Pump put in a new well pump. Three weeks later. No water. Miller stated no more he can do. Then someone suggested changing the breaker at panel. Replaced with new breaker. 8 years later - zero problems with well water. Granted. The breaker may not be the issue. But worth checking. |

These guys/gals - screwed something up. Second guess - the AC unit is too old and kaput. |

What you've described is correct. I have not felt the copper line, which will be my next test. I suspect the HVAC company will hook-up test gauges to test the refrigerant levels, etc. What concerns me is I con't feel any air blowing the floor vents, going to check electrical fuse panel for any tripped Breakers. |
If not a breaker, could be a broken wire that happened when furnace was installed. Seems like all issues might go back to the new furnace install. Have you run the furnace for heat since it was replaced and did you get air flowing from vents ? I think there is only one fan in the system for both heat and cool.

Or a simple recharge is required if it wasn’t done correctly a swap over
