SeptiTech Septic System

I was wondering if anyone has installed a septitech system on their island property? I have been researching this type of septic system and would like to get the opinions of others that may have installed the system.

Putting one in this year

We are planning on installing a Septi-Tech system this year. Diversified Marine has installed them on other islands. Folsom Engineering should be able to give you more info as well.

Septitech System

I just looked up the website. It sounds pretty good. Anyone have any bad experience with this? Anything I should watch out for? Are the suppliers in the area very profesional?
I recently purchase rental property in Breckingridge CO. The septic system needs to be replace. I'm thinking of installing this system.

Septic System

I am familiar with the process of installing/designing septic systems (in Mass). This is a link to the DEP website that might be of use to you... it is always good to explore your options!!! http://www.mass.gov/dep/brp/wwm/file...alap.htm#septi

Even though this link is for MA... it really is a good tool for looking at different types of sysems available and the work involved with putting one in (parts/maintenance contracts/installation).

Good luck.

Good Tool

Seems like it's pretty complicated. It's a lot more than just the tank and a leach bed. Thanks for the link.

BroadHopper,

Are you looking at just a tank replacement or tank and leaching field?
I have a septic system (new) on an Island and I used the Biodiffusers for my leaching field. Very simple installation as compared to a conventional system.
Septitech is a proprietary product and there are others. You have to be careful with the plastic tanks for concerns about bouyancy in high ground water situations, meaning the tank will actually float if not filled with liquid, say, after having it serviced or pumped. I realize this may not happen much on an island. The technology of septic systems is constantly changing.
Good Luck.
